The Fresh Water Lake in Dominica

Two writers from the Tampa Bay Times tell of their adventure in Dominica.

If we’d come here without a guide, we surely would have turned back.

The already steep trail through the lush coastal rain forest had become inconceivably steeper. We were about to get into mountain goat mode. We would have to use all four limbs to descend a 30-foot vertical segment, one of many punctuating the trail, using thick ropes and tropical tree roots — our lifelines to the ocean cove below.

this article relates all the beauty I found when I went to DA seven years ago and decided to buy land, build a home and live with my dominican husband. Dominica is a place where nature still rules and it’s effect can be life changing, it was for me. California resident relocated to Calibishie………..peace.

We never miss the water till the fresh water drys over and over people from foreign lands have to write or tell us how beautiful our Dominica is but yet some of us seek to destroy it and knock it down, i guess its human nature and sadly we sometimes have to respect that and move on with our life it`s like having children thru sweat and toil we cared for them take blows for them show them tough love in order to make something of their life, even better than their parents did for them selves and low and behold they grow up doing well and no mater what parents are always happy for their children doing well. But some children turned and hate, forget all the sacrifices made on their behalf. So todays society is all about instant gratification hence we are in real trouble. . the moral of this story just so I am not misconstrued by some, behavior like that will never bring prosperity. Who the cap fit let them wear it and sound off we all help D.N.O. in the process.
