Rosalie Bay Resort has been named the winner of the CHIEF Award for Sustainability by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA). The honor was bestowed on the resort at the inaugural Caribbean Hotel Industry Exchange Forum (CHIEF) held October 2 to 4, 2015 in Puerto Rico.

CHIEF awards were open to all of the 600 CHTA member hotels and had three separate categories including Sustainability, Sales and Marketing, and Operations. Three resorts were selected as finalists in each category based on their respective submissions. The winners were announced at a luncheon on the final day in front of 400 attendees. Rosalie Bay Resort was selected as the best of the best for its submission in the category of Sustainability.

“From inception to current operations, Rosalie Bay Resort has long-recognized that sustainable tourism honors the environment, our guests, staff and vendors, and the greater community of Dominica. Receiving the CHTA CHIEF Award for Sustainability tells us that our Caribbean community also endorses our mission” said Resort Manager Daryl Aaron. “Rosalie Bay Resort’s sustainability management plan has always guided us and continues to do so particularly as we recover from the recent devastating effects of Tropical Storm Erika.”

The success of any hospitality establishment on Dominica helps the entire community through employment offerings, skill building and tax revenue for strengthening the Dominican infrastructure. The multiplier effect of hospitality success also drives business development for the country securing additional jobs, wages and increased opportunities for residents of Dominica.

You continue to be the “Rose in the Resort Business” in Dominica. The communities surrounding your establishment are very proud of you. Without Rosalie Bay in the communities since construction of the facility began, many residents would not have found employment. The training they have received have been tremendous. GREAT…………… ROSALIE BAY…………….
