During Tourism Awareness Month in May 2010, the Discover Dominica Authority held a beach competition in various communities across the island.  The most improved clean beach would receive a prize of EC$1,000.00.  The competition included beaches at Scott’s Head, Purple Turtle, Calibishie and Woodford Hill.

The Authority is delighted to announce that the winner is the Woodford Hill community.  In celebration of this effort and to continue to encourage the community to keep not just the beach but their surroundings clean, a prize giving ceremony will be held at the Woodford Hill Beach on Thursday 12 August 2010 at 2:30pm.

The Honourable Minister for Tourism and Legal Affairs will present the prize to the Woodford Hill Village Council and the Parliamentary Representative for Woodford Hill, Honourable Minister Gloria Shillingford is expected to give brief remarks.

Discover Dominica Authority is hosting this competition to encourage various communities across Dominica to keep their surroundings clean and to encourage visitors to the beach to keep the area clean for all to enjoy.

Wood city, the village with the best beaches on the north east, Keep it up like that always!
The Village Council must also consider the “Pan Lake” to boost it up for locals and tourist attraction.
