Dominica based writer and published travel guides author, Paul Crask, has just released a new annual magazine called Dominica Traveller.
“I wanted to do something creative and a little different from the norm, so I tried to come up with Dominica’s very own version of a National Geographic style magazine,” he says.
“Dominica Traveller is neither a destination marketing brochure nor a guide and, save for advertorials, it contains very little by way of ‘marketing speak’. Instead, it promotes and showcases this beautiful island in different ways; by describing some of its adventures, its history, its natural sciences, its people, and its art and culture in the form of interesting and in-depth feature articles. It’s a magazine that is true to the essence of Dominica and one you really need to read rather than simply skim through. I believe it complements existing marketing publications and will be especially attractive to independent, adventurous, nature-loving travellers who like to get off the beaten path.”
Dominica Traveller is free of charge thanks to some very supportive sponsors. The Discover Dominica Authority has an allocation for international travel shows as does Ross University School of Medicine for its medical students. Magazines will be distributed to hotels, restaurants, airport, events and operators around the island throughout the next 12 months. There is also a full Internet version.
“In the wake of tropical storm Erika, I believe it’s more important than ever to get Dominica’s name out there in new and creative ways,” says Paul. “Looking at what’s on offer on other islands, I think a magazine of this kind is unique to the region; just like Dominica itself.”
Paul Crask is a duel UK and Dominica citizen and has lived on the Nature Island for ten years. He is the author of two acclaimed Bradt Travel Guides and he also writes for both international and regional newspapers and magazines.

Follow your dream.
Dominica has so much for the world to see and learn about.
I expect a magazine like this would be well received by Dominicans on the island, those in the Diaspora, tourists, and potential tourists.
If fact it would be worth the government investing in!
Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.
EXCELLENT NEWS!!!….Looking foward to a great read as always….WELL DONE…
Yea good! However, you should at least sell it for $5.00 to make money to fund or create other stuff.
Excellent work, Paul. I’m excited to see it.
