Two earthquakes on Saturday morning rattled several Caribbean islands including Dominica, according to information from UWI Seismic Research Center.
The first quake, 6.5 in magnitude, took place at 7:26 am.
The second quake took place at 7:34 am and measured 3.9.
The epicenter of both quakes was in generally the same area.
The epicenter of the first quake was located at 161 km NE of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda; 218 km NE of Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe and 237 km NE of Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis at a depth of 10 km.
The epicenter of the second was located at 137 km NE of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda; 190 km NE of Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe and 219 km ENE of Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis
Initial reports indicate the quakes were felt in Sint Martin, St. Eustatius, Antigua, St. Kitts, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Vincent.
There are no reports of damage.
And by the way, there are thousands of earth quakes and tremors daily. Most of them are too weak to be felt. So yes, we are constantly rocking.
Isn’t it similar to turbulence on a plane? If the earth shook often enough, we would have gotten use to it like folks in Cali.
“Everything that can be shaken will be shaken.” Not me dat say nuh! Read your bible (if you have one). Soon all the millions of $$$$$ we stashed away will be in the rubble and dust. Thus, their value will be equal to suspended dust. All those who want to live like “little gods,” go ahead. Our days are numbered. Eh heh…..If a 7.7 hit Dominica, there will be no need to rescue or evacuate.

6.5 earthquake is a bad one. It could topple buildings, damage roads and cause deaths. It must have been below sea level; not on land. If it were on land, there would be some extensive damage.
I experienced a 5.0 in Toronto and pray God that I never experience one as that and not a 6.0 etc.
Earthquakes are unpredictable. We never know when and where they will strike and how much on the Richter Scale.
I did feel it, it was very strong but it was very short.
