I am too. During the last budget presentation, he promised several thousand jobs for Dominicans. Jobs were to be so plentiful, that overseas nationals would be returning home in droves, to fill thousands of open positions. To date, there is no definitive answer about the jobs that he promised, just like pretty much everything else that this corrupt regime promises.

We need to pass a bill to decriminalise the Marijuana law in Dominica to create products such as rope, medicines, food, cosmetics and also for touristic aesthetique pleasure. We need to tap in this market before the other islands do. Amsterdam makes millions everyday by implementing this.

Hemp is a very good product and we have expertsd on the island who can attest to the fact that it is an all purpose herb.

People who want marijuana decriminalized are not thinking about the legitimate products that can be created from it. They want to make it easier to grow, sell, and buy for those who will smoke it.

Decriminalization would enable growers, sellers, and users to avoid arrest the consequences of facing charges. Studies have shown that the easier it is to obtain a substance the more people will use it.

It has been recently found by two separate studies done by university medical schools that smoking marijuana causes damage to the brain in areas responsible for memory and learning. Regular smoking was seen to cause students to drop in their grades, and produced a higher number of school drop outs.

Here is Canada it has been recently announced that impaired driving included driving under the influence of drugs as well as alcohol. It has come to the attention of the authorities that people have been driving
under the influence of marijuana. They found it necessary to warn us.

        Continuation:

It is known that smoking marijuana causes some respiratory problems and is suspected to contribute to certain cancers.

People who go on a binge of serial violent crimes are often found to be high on marijuana, sometimes along with alcohol.

It is not difficult to understand the logic in the belief that marijuana is a “gateway” drug. It is easy to obtain. People – especially young people – discover that marijuana gives them a nice “high” and they don’t experience immediate harm from it. They hear that cocaine and heroine produce an even better high so they experiment with one of these drugs and soon become addicted.

It is sad to hear people in the Caribbean argue that large amounts of money could be made from the decriminalization of marijuana. Foolish people! This is the same $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ mentality that drove the slave trade! It is what drives gambling and the sex trade.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. (Diploma in Drug Studies)

If you are going to make Amsterdam your example there are better things for you to copy than their drug culture.

On the other hand there are things in Amsterdam the majority of Dominicans would not want on the beautiful nature island.

Some nations have adopted liberal policies and practices against the wishes of their best people. Already bad situations have become worse and they have not yet had time to see the final results and ultimate outcome of their foolishness.

Sometimes it is good to just ask ourselves “What motivated the change?” Was it the love of money? Were they catering to the beggarly elements in their society? The nation that does not honor God and obey Him will not be protected and blessed by Him.

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any nation.” (Proverbs 14:34)

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.
