Dominica is still being affected by an active tropical wave and the flash flood watch issued at 12 p.m. on Sunday 4th September, is still in effect.
Flash Flood Watch means Flash Flooding is possible.
This latest advisory has come from the Meteorological Service in a bulletin which was issued at 6.00 p.m. on Sunday.
A westward moving tropical wave will continue to generate shower and thunderstorm activity with gusty winds across Dominica and parts of the Lesser Antilles during tonight and Monday.
Persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant and to exercise extreme caution as flash flooding is possible.
Moderate to rough sea conditions are expected during the next 12 to 24 hours with waves peaking near 10.0 feet.
As a result, a small craft advisory is in effect for above normal seas and gusty winds. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise extreme caution.
This watch may be further extended or upgraded should conditions become necessary.

As much as Dominicans are bad I pray that God will protect them and shield them from the hurricane. Because I want them to realized all those chances that God if giving them.
This is peak hurricane season, we all have to be prudent, and look out for each other. prayers will be the driving Force to ensure that God`s grace and protection is ensured.
It is crazy how the government has left the Checkhall Valley Settlement so vulenerable to flooding….Guess there are enough labourites living there…..SOOOO SAD!!!
Good proactive move by the met officials…that’s the way to do forecasting more competently and professionally!
Perhaps even from Yesterday would have been justifiable and warranted given that the effects were more intense in certain parts of the island compared to other…Early and Advanced watches and warning systems are the key…the non issuance watches/ warnings Re:- Tropical Storm Erika’s impact- must never be repeated in honour of the countless souls lost that fateful day last Year…
