Flash Flood Watch issued for Dominica

flood warningThe Met Office has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Dominica as a tropical wave is generating unstable conditions across the island.

A Flash Flood Watch means flash flooding is possible and persons in areas or communities that are prone to flooding, landslide, and falling rocks should be vigilant and should take all precautionary measures to protect life and property.

The watch remains in effect until 6:00 am on Tuesday, June, 7.

Satellite and Radar imagery indicated that light to moderate showers and isolated areas of heavy showers and thunderstorm have been affecting Dominica throughout this morning.

The forecast is for shower and thunderstorm activity to continue to affect the island for the rest of today and through tomorrow with expected rainfall accumulations up to 2 inches and higher amounts in elevated areas. Flash flooding is, therefore possible.

This watch may be upgraded should conditions become necessary.

Only in DA can a major bridge project commence a few days after the official start of the hurricane season. Guess the big man continues to want to rub it in the people faces that he can do what he want when he wants. Something is seriously wrong in this country and I hope that we do not get worse than Erika this year to finally teach us a lesson.

Dominica is due for a massive cleansing similar to what we saw from Erika. I hope the people of Soufriere constituency vote against those evils of the dlp that have corrupted and contaminated Dominica. If they vote for Skerrit I say cleanse us with the flood waters.

It looks like you are perfect, the most perfect person on earth and never contaminated even your mind and others.
God will judge you by your words.
Should another storm as Erika or a worst one affect Dominica, I expect you are residing there and you may be severely affected in a worst manner. Therefore, watch your words. Pray for everyone including yourself so that D/ca will be spared.

The production of rain is sometimes inevitable; however, Dominica, being one of the Islands with heavy forestation is perhaps the reason why the rain persists.

The water cycle explains that the water evaporates from the trees, pools, oceans. rivers and seas, condense in the atmosphere and return to the ground as rain.

Whilst the Forest Reserves are beneficial, there must be a management system in place to fall trees in the forest in order to control the amount of rainfall on the island.

Stop politicizing everything!!!! You’re not supposed to be so blinded by partisanship that you cannot face reality. This is a Public Service Announcement cautioning the citizens of potentially dangerous weather, yet you find a way to make it a political issue. Get out of your pigeon hole and broaden your mind and way of thinking.

        June 6, 2016

@D/can, yes, everything is politics in Dominica. You know that, I know that, Skerrit knows that and we all know that. The house speaker told us is better “Red” than dead and recently Baroness Scottland those that oppose what Skerrit is doing to “Susay cell.”

In case you still think everything is politics, you need to tell us if God was political when he saw the wickedness of man and all his imagination was evil and corrupt ge. 6;5-, and that’s what led to the flood
