Flood Warning remains in effect for Dominica

flood warningWeather Forecaster Marshall Alexander says a flood warning remains in effect for Dominica until 12 noon on Friday and there is a possibility that it could be extended further.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is already occurring or will occur during the warning period.

Alexander said most of the activities associated with the remnants of ‘Grace’ moved north east of Dominica last night but the island is still being affected by the system.

“Although we expect a relative improvement in conditions this morning, conditions remain unstable with high moisture level, therefore a flood warning is in effect until 12 noon today and could be further extended as we still expect some moderate to heavy showers during the afternoon and soils are saturated,” he stated.

He noted that rock falls have been reported because of showers across the island.

“We are advising residents to be vigilant and to continue to be safe…it is always better to be safe that sorry,” he advised.

Residents in Dominica in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks should continue to exercise caution, Alexander remarked.

Moderate sea conditions are expected during the next 12 to 24 hours with waves peaking near 8.0 feet and small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

I suppose God, is still trying to get the attention of Dominicans again. By the same token he perhaps was trying to get the attention of the people approximately 65 miles North East of Los Angeles, in the small City of Victorvill, where it rained and flooded Monday of this week.

One man was washed through an underground drain and came out at the other end, which is recorded as the length of two football filed, he was under ground for more than a quart of a mile, and survived.

In Japan right at this minute, the military in helicopters are plucking people off the top of building as houses are washed away again North of Tokyo. That would be a very strange way God would chose to get the attention of the people he created! While we pray, we need to take precaution, and head to high grounds prior to the flood.

What we experienced outside of Los Angeles, Monday, and in Japan today, is all due to climate Change, and we are preparing for a vicious rain storm called El Nino!

“As expected, the current El Niño has become a strong one, according to NOAA’s September El Niño diagnostic discussion released Thursday.

Weekly sea-surface temperature departures from average topped 2 degrees Celsius from mid-August into early September in the defining strip of the equatorial Pacific Ocean monitored for El Niño, the Niño 3.4 region. El Niño events are considered strong when temperature anomalies top 2 degrees Celsius.”

When it arrives it will dump as much water on California that might eliminate the long prevailing of more than four years.

” long prevailing of more than four years.”

“To higher grounds?” Where’s the higher grounds? In Noah’s flood all mountains (high and low) were covered by the flood.

Maybe He wants to drive out the invaders and foreigners from amongst us. We are losing our country to the Chinese and all other races who don’t like black people.

I’ll say two things to you, and perhaps you should give it some serious thought before make the statements such as what I am responding too.

This storm cannot be compared with the flood in Noah’s day, in the first place God sent that flood to end the world of all life in Noah day because of the people’s wickedness: God gave them a chance to turn away from their wickedness they did not. The generation of that day did not believe that God exists.

Secondly, you have to be careful when you suggest that foreigner such as the Chines are taking over Dominica. One of the reasons Dominica is so backward, is because very few foreigners took any interest in our country, because of our foolish ways. Land has been an issue, Dominicans always believe white people would come in and take Dominica away with them. Our people in the 1950’s chased every white face from Dominica. Not enough time to detail it, however, if you look at the progress of all the other islands in the Caribbean, they…

, if you look at the progress of all the other islands in the Caribbean, they all have multinational, and by that I mean different complexion of people in comparison to Dominica. Leave the Chines alone man; foreigners help build nations, even America!

In the early 1950’s West Indians started to immigrate to England, they help the economy of England from the time the got there. Prior to large immigrant population, in England the poor seldom got credit, around England they utilized Red diffusion Radio, that is a loud speaker installed in the home and speaker wire came in like that of telephone and connected to the speakers; the only place in Caribbean that was ever installed is in Barbados.

When the people from the West Indies got to England they commence buying what we call Radiogram, and other electronics, refrigerators, and other household appliances, they ask to buy on they paid, and the rest is history. Pig feet and head with the snout was thrown away, until West Indians ask…
