The Office of Disaster Management (ODM) wishes to remind the general public that Dominica and the Lesser Antilles are under the influence of a Trough System and is advising that everyone should stay indoors

In a release late Monday evening the ODM said that it expected that during this evening into tomorrow we can expect intermittent heavy showers, gusty winds and thunderstorms.

Residents should follow closely the warnings issued by the Meteorological Service in its weather bulletins.

Given the fact that we are expecting moderate showers, residents should move around cautiously bearing in mind the topography of Dominica and possible swollen water ways.

“If it is not absolutely necessary to be outdoors please remain indoors,” the ODM said.

The system is expected to drop between six and four inches of rain on the island.
