At approximately 2:30pm, Depression No. 2 intensified to Tropical Storm Beryl.
At 5:00PM Tropical Storm Beryl was located near latitude 10.3N, longitude 42.8W or about
1295miles or 2080 KM, east south east of the Lesser Antilles.
Beryl is moving toward the west near 16 mph (26 km/h). Additional strengthening is forecast and Beryl could become a hurricane by Friday or Saturday. However, Beryl is forecast to degenerate or weaken into an open trough
just east of the Lesser Antilles late Sunday into Monday.
Regardless that the cyclone is projected to dissipate east of the Lesser Antilles, the remnant tropical wave will continue moving quickly westward and is likely to generate moderate to heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds across the island chain by overnight Saturday into early Monday.
Residents are therefore advised to keep informed on the progress of this system. Moderate seas are expected during the next 24 to 48 hours with waves peaking near 8.0 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers, particularly on the east coast, should exercise caution.
The storm should fall apart by the time it reaches the Lesser Antilles. That’s due to strong wind shear, dry air, and dust, which should all combine to weaken the system, AccuWeather said.
Boy when you hear we cyanna take another one… My house still shaking from minimal repairs shate man
Hoping for the best. I’m very much concerned about those who are very vulnerable even to the slightest downpours. Where is the voice of Joseph Isaac to assuage the people’s fears? What is in place in the event of strong winds, heavy showers, flooding, landslips and impassable roads? Lack of vision, inadequate planning, apathy on the part of government, are all putting people’s lives in serious endangerment. Once again, the only thing that the people have to protect themselves from wrath of the weather is their prayers.
Wow!Wow! And this crooked regime still does not address the thousands who are still under tarpaulin.
Even if it weakens it way still bring a lot of rain and with the state of or drainage system can spell trouble. Lets not forget Erika. Our gov has failed us so people prepare yourselves. You cannot leave it to others. We all know what happened recently.
Boy my kaka boiling, even if it doh bring wind, it must bring rain
