Tropical Depression Seven has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Grace Saturday afternoon.
Grace is forecast to strengthen somewhat in the coming days as it moves toward the west.
With an environment of wind shear and dry air ahead, the future of Grace is somewhat uncertain.
As of Saturday afternoon, the system was looking better organized via satellite imagery and a gradual strengthening trend is forecast in the short-term.
Into early this upcoming week, it seems likely that this system will start to weaken and perhaps could become a remnant low before reaching the Lesser Antilles late in the week.
Grace is still more than five days away from the islands and poses no threat for the time-being.
Tropical Storm Grace:
Location 12.4 N 28.5 W
Maximum Winds 45 mph with gusts up to 60mph
Movement W at 12 mph
Minimum Pressure 1004 mb.
Basically Grace has slowed down a bit, is
strengthening, and is moving due W toward the
Lesser Antilles. By the time she increases in
latitude she will be heading towards Dominica
and Guadeloupe.
To date, 3 of 6 models are showing that the eye
of Grace will be will passing over Dominica or
Guadeloupe. NGFDL model shows the eye
passing over Guadeloupe. HWRF shows the eye
passing over the middle of Dominica. And GFS
which has always been the most accurate model
shows the eye passing over the Nothern part of
Dominica. The other 3 models show the eye
passing just north of the Virgin Islands.
Grace is expected to be in our region about late
Friday night into early Saturday morning.
NAAN’s advice: preparation cushions the impact
of a natural disaster. Preparation will not prevent
us from being affected. But it can lessen the
impact…
Well let’s hope that Grace serves true to her name and offer a grace period..In the mean time take all precaution until the all clear signal is given…
Erika seem to have pose no threat yet look at the devatation. ALL ONMISLAND SHOULD TAKE STRICT PRECAUTIONS AS THESE STORMS CAN HIT AND CAUSE MAJOR DAMAGE AS WE HAVE SEEN WITHOUT NOTICE.
I hope TS Grace will have some grace on us and pass far from Dominica, because I sure don’t want to hear Pas. Peter Augustine use 2nd Tim. 3:1 to tell us the storm was “Signs of the times,” and skillfully avoided verse two of the same passage. Because he forgot it let me quote it: 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. He needs to see where he fell short from these passage cause I can see a lot. He also mentioned “Division.” Pas. Have you made it right with your fellow partisan pastor from the north who is also a spiritual advisor? Have you made it right with the pastor on Q? You need to lead by example and not in words
On serious note, had a dream recently that Dominica was beaten up again by another storm. The people were expecting that so soon.
