UPDATE: Met office warns of weather system

mapResidents in areas prone to flooding, mud/landslides and falling rocks should exercise caution as an area of low pressure now located east of the Windward Islands approaches.

Met officials urge interests in Dominica and the Lesser Antilles to closely monitor the progress of this system as moisture and instability associated with it are expected to spread cloudiness, shower and thunderstorm activity and gusty winds across portions of the Lesser Antilles on Thursday and Friday.

According to the weather forecast issued at 6.00 p.m Wednesday, moderate sea conditions are expected during the next 12 to 24 hours with swells peaking near 7.0 feet. A slight increase to peak near 10.0 feet is anticipated on Friday.

Small craft operators and sea bathers are asked to exercise caution.
