Dominicans are advised to monitor the progress of a weather system which is currently located east of the Lesser Antilles.
Because of that system, a flood watch or warning may be issued for Dominica later today, according to the Dominica Meteorological Service.
The area of low pressure is showing signs of development will generate shower and thunderstorm activity with gusty winds across the area.
“Interests in Dominica and the Lesser Antilles should monitor the progress of this system. A reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to investigate the disturbance this afternoon, if necessary,” the Meteorological Service said on Thursday morning.
Moderate seas are expected during today with waves peaking near 8.0 feet. Thereafter, by tonight into Friday, sea conditions will deteriorate with seas peaking near 12.0 feet. All users of the sea are advised to exercise caution.
Weak unstable conditions will continue to produce occasional cloudiness and scattered showers across parts of the island chain during today.
