Weather system to approach Lesser Antilles next week

The system is labeled 1 on the map above

The Dominica Meteorological Service has said a weather system located in the Eastern Atlantic is expected to approach the Lesser Antilles by the middle of next week.

The system, which is an area of low pressure, is being monitored for development over the next few days.

It has a high chance of development as it approaches the Lesser Antilles.

At 2:00 pm the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said associated shower and thunderstorm activity has not been sufficiently organized to designate the system as a tropical depression.

“Only a slight increase in organization would lead to the initiation of advisories on this system, possibly as early as later today or tonight,” the center said.

The NHC said the system has a 90 percent chance of development in the next five days.

Meanwhile, a surface trough is expected to result in some weak instability across Dominica today into Saturday resulting in an increase in cloudiness, shower activity and a chance of isolated thunderstorms by afternoon.

People in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant and to exercise caution during that period.

Honestly speaking right now I am not even praying for Dominica to be protected fror hurricane anymore. I just simply say let you will be done. I say so because at least, when we are hit by a natural disaster Skerrit getting enough election money and food from the world bank, friendly governments and from Dominicans in the Diaspora, whereas bas when Hurricane Skerrit strikes and destroys everything like Ross University, the banana industry and many more, we say nothing. At least when it’s natural disaster we get money but when it it hurricane Skerrit we lose money. Hate me and thanks in advance for your thumbs down, but I don’t care because I speaking the truth

What an idiotic, uneducated, ignorant and disgusting comment. Skerrit is not the only one impacted by hurricanes. i am assuming you or your entire family are not residing in Dominica that is why you are able to make a nonsensical contribution because I know for sure if you were residing in Dominica then you would not have wasted the two minutes of your life that you will never get back and write such a silly comment.
Rise above all that politics and come election day pick your government, but you are not convincing any one and your comment will not make a difference in the election.
I live in the US and I am telling you as an Educated Dominican who was partially educated in Dominica and then in the US people only go crazy for election but then life returns to normal.
Maybe Dominicans need to develop that attitude, instead of trying to convince people as to who they should vote.
DOMINICA IS A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY so we can choose whomever we want
