The Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control is pleased to announce that The WINLOTT Inc/Windward Islands Under 15 Tournament 2016 will be held in Dominica from 1st to 10th April 2016.

This years’ tournament is a continuation of the partnership between the WICBC and Winlott Inc which begun in 2015, when Winlott agreed to sponsor the Windward Islands Under 15 and Under 19 Tournaments.  Winlott Inc previously sponsored the Windwards T20 Tournaments from 2010 to 2013.

Chairman of Winlott Inc, Mr. Murray Bullock pledges his organization’s commitment to the development of Windwards cricket, and expressed satisfaction with the outcome of both 2015 tournaments. He lauded the performance and success of our youth cricketers, in particular those who were selected to the Windwards and West Indies Youth teams.

WInlott Inc will once again provide EC$100,000 directly to each tournament, and additionally will cover    the cost for outfitting all teams and officials, and tournament awards/prizes.  Under the agreement, WINLOTT Inc., will have all marketing rights to the tournaments, including branding, naming and media rights, and promotional events.   Both entities will continue to engage each other as to developmental activities for the young cricketers from the Windwards group.

The principal aim of this Tournament is to give to the young players of the Windward Islands the opportunity to display their skills and talents and to earn a place on the various National teams and then on to the Windward Islands team..

CEO of the WICBC, Mr. Lennox John, welcomed the continuation of the partnership, and reiterated comments made by his President, Mr. Emmanuel Nanthan when the MOU was signed in 2015, commending WINLOTT INC for continuing to come forward to fund aspects of our cricket, and for placing an emphasis on the development of the young players in the Windward Islands.

In 2016 this is the picture we present to the world of our team? When are we going to get the message that we need to think on a bigger scale. That’s a terrible picture of our proud young men.
