the competiyion was ok but i had a problem with leona even if she win. last year as i was told they couldnt sing their own song. so how comes she sing her own song. i mean its her song . she would always sing it good duh. and jasmine should have plaxed cuz she did very good. smh. LAME judges!!!

were you really at the show? stevauhn was consistent in both his rounds, something jasmine lacked..i mean he had minor minor mistakes but he sure made up for it..aat first when i heard he was going to do a calypso i was shocked to but he took a risk and it work..congrats stevauhn you did not win but you are a winner in my eyes
Round two in order. Hannah u made up for first round was not too bad.Jasmine was great. Delma u were great. Tronnel u was better in second round;good job. Rosette u stepped down from first perfomance but was not that bad. Rhea was good.Earl u were great; u sounded just like real guest artiste.Leona u were great;consistant both rounds. Kadeen u did great this round.Jerd u were good .stevaughn what was wrong with u tonight vocally. i was routing for u and u really disapoint me tonight but ur second performance was better. u did ok tonight but not as i was expecting.. listening to show was great. entertaining.my top four is leona, Jasmine and earl and Delma. based on what i listened to in both rounds. lets give jack his jacket. quarters and semis have nothing to do with finals. supposed to be judged from fresh.
For the first round in order. Yasmain u were great even with minor error ,Hannah was way off. Delma u was great. Tronnel u had too much background and struggled to keep up with backup vocals. Rosette u were great even with setbacks in ur voice at the end. Rhea u was ok just little plain ,but was ok. Earl you was the bomb; boy u rocked it u were unique. Leona killed it; really improved from last year. Kadeen sorry but u were way way off. Jerd was ok but little off. stevaughn sorry u was not too bad but expected way better. was little off . (for round one leona is #1) waiting for round two. it takes courage to go up guys just work for next year. u all are winners for going up.

Hmmmm!! competition between either sevaughn,jasimine, tronnel or rosette. well my favourite participants are: jasimine: beacause this girl sure got talent. no lie. she aint forcing at all and she always sound like the artiste she is singing as. and sevaughn: because he got a soft sexy voice. when he sings u wanna hear more of him. Now im not saying the others aint good at all cuz they all got talent. and they all are doing a good job. idc who wins cause it just says that dominica got talent and i am proud of them all ♥♥♥♥
For the past years QTS has been choosing the people they know. it should be about choosing the best singer in the competition. be fair doesnt matter who u know or like. i mean it doesnt matter which community u from, its all about Dominica can sing. please vote for who u think is the best and not who u like the most. smh

WOW!!! This is my 1st time on DNO since the show started and I’ve been hearing alot going on here on DNO… To all the participants and Past Participants… All criticism is the same! The problem is how WE take these comments… People will say all kinds of things about you don’t matter how hard you try! You can’t please everyone guys! So I guess what I’m saying is the comments that prick you shouldn’t prick you! IT SHOULD MAKE YOU BETTER & STRONGER!!! Use it for motivations guys!!! Getting knocked out of the show means nothing at all… All you guys have to do is to not make the same mistakes again!!!
Anyway… Much love to all who tried, made it and didn’t make it thus far… I’m proud of everyone for trying! It takes GUTS to come up that stage and do what WE do!

I thinks its about time we put down our feet on such comments that some of u all make i really wish that you all would encourage us more than bash us. we make a mistake on stage DON’T BOO at us. instead clap and say continue or go ahead.. We take part every year doe tell us go and find something better to do or bring us down. Music keeps us out of drugs, prostitution, killing, Not because we are not your favorite doesn’t mean u don’t have to cheer us on.
stevaunne is QTS winner this year. It is quite clear.
No matter how much people allu bring in Arawak to support the massicot woman from up north it is not a popularity show,it is all about the voice and talent and stevaunne has it all. You made me proud stevaunne and all the others who made it to the final deserved the spot. Jerd u improved and ur family should be proud. Jasmine u are truly talented. Tronnel you made my night..

Oh yeah if they do have call backs Yamain should definitely be there. Yesterday I stood outside of the Good will Catholic church and listen to this young lady performed to faculty and student and I swear I was listening to the voice of an angel. The warmth, applauses and gratitude expressed by many proved the she deserved to be in the semifinal and the judges made a mistake. I Hope Q95 organizers or the people in charge of this show are reading these comments. This young woman is gifted in singing and I trust that she can be given the opportunity to prove that she deserved that spot. Even on the X factor and America’s got talent judges made mistakes recognized it and had call backs so why can’t QTS?

Yamain David deserved to be place and Jerd dorsette didn’t not perform his song well at all. He actually forgot his song. Come on now. Please be fair judges. If Yamain name is there it is well deserved instead of Jerd. We need to stop this unfiar and biasness in judging our shows cause with nonsense and unfairness like this many young people like me who would love to take part in the show would be discouraged from taking part.
First of all the fact that it’s the same faces same voices all the time is not fiar. I think those who placed in the last 2012 show should not be given a chance to participate in the upcoming show. It would mean that they already have an advantage over the new ones. I am looking at the list of semi finalist and it seems like most of the new contestants didn’t not make it. It is rather unfair to the new contestants.

Matt play on request so please consider that. Besides there are some horrible singing which can’t be played on the radio cause it will put the competition to shame. So get your facts straight. I Listened to The QTS for the First Time and this Boy Called Jervonne Christopher Has One AMAZING tone! i thought i was listening to the voice or The X Factor Finals yes he did a little too much but it still was on POINT! he has Skill Technique Range and challenges himself i love how he took an originals song changed the style and instrumental and just MADE IT HIS OWN! That is what a true Artist is All About! My vote goes out to you boy!

People can say what they want. Jump high, jump low but some of these contestants have great voices while the others needs serious help. Either you have it or you don’t. The idea is to leave this competition a star. Shamica did her thing and won although some though Andy should have won i disagree. If you look back at his performances you will see that his swag and nerves killed him. He kept pulling up his pants so many time at one of his performances it was ridiculous but he has a great voice. Kersel was very consistent with his performances that’s why he places so high. I agree Carlene could have made it but her second song killed her. Rachel was great. This year’s contestant, only a few are good. The others, not so good. Vex if you want by Royette is NOT a soloist. She does great in groups like sisserou singers but she suck as a soloist. If you listen carefully you will hear her croaking like a chicken. Maybe, just maybe she can stand a chance if the right song is chosen for her. Getting a song in your range is key to getting through. It was a disgrace to hear the kind of sings these young artist wants to sing and can’t sing them. I listened to the launch and it was terrible. Only a few sang well. The group songs was awful to. Has anyone been watching Glee or even Sixth Form Sisserou Singers singers group songs? Jael needs to do some research. They are very very biased in their support and it shows. Jerd, we are tired of the ballads and unless you can bring something fresh every time then your venture is pointless and you will bore the crowd. It’s not about being negative because you want a winner to put out a very good album and to represent Dominica locally, regionally and internationally. Have you all seen American Idol and how Simon use to be so harsh? No one to date has been more harsh than Simon. The show needs some class. I would advise the participants to get as much help as possible and choose songs they can sing. We tired hear people screaming and croaking on the stage. Why should you sing a Mariah Carey song and you are not a descant or high soprano? You will “choke” and make a fool of yourself. Anyway big up to the young folks taking part and remember to choose songs you can sing.

Can you imagine that? It only proves again that there are favoritism in that talent search. You have to be really determined and strong hearted not to take those crap that going on. I agree with you. Why not play the contestants songs in the order that they appeared on stage whether you disliked their performances or not. However if it was really done in alphabetical order they would have played Colette Ambo song too among those they played today. I guess they were seeking out and promoting their favorite voices first or what they judged as the best.

last night as I sat there and listened to Q9s launched the 32 singing contestants, I can’t help but say that it was a splendid show. For a moment I wish I were I Dominica to support these talent youths. Many Dominicans should come out and support these young people and try not to be critical or demotivating.
However it seems that demotivating has already taken it’s roots from Q95 it self. While at the same time they are promoting these young people and asking many to be encouraging, last night one thing stood out from the show. Jael and Matt were only giving great comments to those who appeared to be their favorites giving great comments and totally ignored or forgot about the others. Despite the fact that one may perform and may not be up to standards, I think they could have been much more encouraging of these contestants. Come on Jael and MATT it was a launch and it was your duty to inspire all the 32 contestants be it they sang well or not. Have you for a moment ever taught of how those contestants may have felt seeing you doing this. I heard and I picked it up rather quickly. I am a strong supporter of Q95 and the talent search but this attitude projected from Q95 needs to be caught off.
I can imagine how Yamain David and Tina Alfred and the many others you did this to may have felt though it was only a launch. In deed there is much that these contestants may have to improve on.
I am an active listener of Q95 daily presentations of these youngsters and only a few songs of these contestants songs are being played over and over again others are left out. Even here on the voting list many are again left out. Where are YAMAIN David and Willis Joseph? Is it a personal grudge? I would hate to think that Q95 is being political.
Many of these contestants have been left out. All should be promoted.Come on now Q95.
To Yamain David you were truly on fire last night. I listened to your performance. Though your musical accompaniment was very low, perhaps too low for you to be able to hear your QUES, you seemed to have taken charge of your song and with much pride and determination you were not backing down. Keep Your head in the clouds girl. Don’t let the negativity bring you down. I love your voice and I admire your talent and courage. It takes much courage to do something different but it’s truly worth the effort. I am sure many Dominicans can fall in love with your talent and give You the true support that you deserve. To all the other contestants out there go out and shine, the sky is truly the limit as to how far you can soar. I enjoyed your show last night.
I find it weird that when young people looking to do something we often bring them down and when they do bad we still criticize them.. it looks like most people on here have an issue with Royette being in QTS?? yet still I applaud ur efforts for keeping at it despite what people say. Same for Jerd. These are young people they have feelings they have talent.. Despite if they choose to go up every year the JUDGES are the one who make them pass closed auditions so don’t u think the judges are the ones to be blamed for them making it to Quarters…. look at the top four of last year. who would’ve thought that after Racheal would have been Kersel. we all though Jamaal would have placed after. who would have thought that Bram would have placed we all thought Carlene should have made it top 4.
Look at the year before when Shamica won. we all thought Andy would have won or at least place after Shamica but Chad did.. all because of the Judges… those children like singing leave dem sing don’t throw “fiore” for them..

I listened to the QTS lastnight and I was very disappointed with the MCs. They came across as very biased and unsupportive of certain contestants. For instance, after Yamain David sang, the attitude was very negative. The music was too low so she had to try to compensate by singing louder. MCs didnt even say a well done, nothing, as if she didnt even sing! This was very por on their part. And they seem to cheer on their favourites!
Another question, why isnt Yamain name on the voting thing? Please fix that bcz people want to vote for her. And why dont u play her song on the radio? I listen to Q95 everyday and I dont hear her at all. She is our star this year so plz play her song!!!!
