Dominica announces exiciting 2013 World Creole Music Festival line up

 ROSEAU, Dominica – (August 1, 2013) Dominica announced the 2013 World Creole Music Festival line-up during the ‘Official Launch’ held on July 29th. The festival is scheduled for Friday to Sunday, October 25 to 27 at the Windsor Park Stadium, Roseau, Dominica.

Headline acts during the 17th edition of the festival include Jamaican dancehall artist ‘Busy Signal’; the legends of Zouk, ‘Kassav;’ and Trinidadian Soca Artist ‘Machel Montano’.

“This formidable line-up along with an impressive multitude of Creole musical acts will create the much anticipated festival flavor,” said Colin Piper, director of tourism for Dominica.

Rounding out the three nights of pulsating rhythms are: ‘Kwaxikolor’ of Martinique; a stunning array of Zouk All Stars hailing from Guadeloupe, including the renown ‘Jean Marc Ferdinand’, ‘Patrice Hulman’, ‘Orlane’ and ‘Alex Alexis’; Haiti’s masters of Compas – ‘Carimi,’ and ‘Nu Look’, ‘Bracket’ from Nigeria, as well as Latin sensation ‘Tito Puente Jr.’.

Dominica’s very own ‘Triple Kay Global’, popularly known for their unique bouyon rhythms, will bring added spice by featuring ‘Ole Benz’ and ‘Nayee’. A line up of cadence All Stars branded with a uniquely Dominican essence includes ‘Fitzroy Williams’ – the “Honored Icon” for this year’s festival, ‘Halibut’, ‘Elisha Benoit’ and the ‘King of Cadence’ – ‘Chubby’!

Celebrating 35 years of Calypso, presented by the historically known ‘Swingin Stars’ band, will feature the greatest calypso hits from De Bob, Hunter, Chester and six time Calypso Monarch – ‘King Dice’.’ In addition, young Dominica Stars will shine under the spotlight of the three nights of pulsating rhythms.

Fans should look out for ticket promotions for the World Creole Music Festival over the coming weeks as well as other promotional activities both locally and regionally.

The event is presented by the Government of Dominica alongside Headline Partner Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) and Gold Partner ‘Digicel’.

    A really mouth watering lineup of superb artists. Dominicans from all over the world and others quite look forward to this absolutely wonderful festival. Well done to our Tourist Board & our Government !!! God bless DOMINICA
