Jungle Bay Resort & Spa named “Top 10 island retreats in the world”

Jungle Bay Resort & Spa was recently ranked as one of the Top Ten Island Retreats in the World according to the January / February 2010 issue of Islands Magazine. The full article can be found at this link: www.islands.com/blogs/10-best-islands-wellness-2010.

The article highlights Jungle Bay, Dominica as the global leader in places where travelers can find balance for their lives. It states, “Nothing restores low spirits and a weary body like an uplifting environment. Dominica is that place. Its people thrive on the islands mountainous walking terrain, largely organic diet, clean air and good water….Jungle Bay lets you tap into that power.”

Jungle Bay’s founder and General Manger, Samuel Raphael says “This achievement is a testament to the dedicated staff at our resort and to the excellent treatment of our guests by the people of Dominica. It should also remind us of the importance of preserving Dominica’s pristine environment which, along with our hospitable people are our islands greatest treasures. Jungle Bay is honored to be recognized internationally by Islands Magazine.”

The recent Islands Magazine designation is the latest addition to Jungle Bay’s other major achievements. Since opening close to five years ago Jungle Bay has received the following global designations: Top 10 Eco-Resorts by Forbes Traveler (USA), Top 5 Jungle Lodges The Independent (UK), Top 10 Eco-Honeymoon Resorts Brides.com (USA) 2008 World Saver Award for pioneering work in Philanthropic Travel Conde Nast(USA). Sam, so glad to see JungleBay get the recognition it deserves! The only thing better than the natural beauty of the resort and your island is the friendliness and helpfulness of your staff! Brother, Carlos, Justinian and everyone helped make our trip this past December the best ever! Keep up the good work, we look forward to a third visit soon!

wow, its amazing that some of the self-proclaimed giants in the tourism industry arent in that top 10. Congrats, to the staff, management and ownership of that fine establishment and also to the people of Dominica. All over the Caribbean they’re seeing an overwhelming increase in crime such that you’d find in the states. Dominican society has weathered these ills well. Dominica is not densely populated putting very little strain on our natural environment. I love my country

this is a really nice place…love it…I never stayed but took a tour…love the attention to detail the stone work, the wood, the everything…and it is also inspiring for anyone who wants to go into business. Never be afraid that there are other people doing what you do or what you want to do…Just be very good at it, dedicated to it and you will reap success! Congrats Sam! Maybe one day I will see Jungle Bay on the Bachelor, cause all commercial I see for that show the Pitons in the backgroung. Trust me St. Lucia got marketing on lock! we can do it too! We just have to come correct…
