Big up! Agree with fun and frolic. Among the reasons why I love DA. We are a very creative, multi-talented and vibrant set of people. So want to encourage a violence free and happy carnival celebration. Big up to the lady in black: giving you my support. I like your style -you are very versatile, and we’ll be coming to see the show! Give it your best shot. Way I see it, You are already an Empress in your own right. Much love to the other ladies as well. Is one to win, so do your thing on the night and let’s see who’s gonna win. Empress represent alright. Hold tight. Jah guide.

Whilst Carnival has it’s role in its expressions of history, it is also all about an expression of creativity, art, and culture. Culture is all about expressing, and showcasing the many dimensions of who we are and who we can be, we dress up to be like a canvas to tell an interesting story that potrays all the things that make us unique and original, and that allows us to stand out among the rest… Some persons can’t always handle it, and not just anyone is able to pull it off but; I happen to like the daring black costume. Others may be of a different opinion, but; it works for me (-in my opinion,) and my collegues and I agree. It’s cool to be different, and I will add; she is beautiful at it. The different angles of this model and her out fit that I’ve seen from other photographers, are gorgeous. In the spirit of Carnival; Hats off to you and your designer for an appropriate sense of creativity in the spirit of expression in this ‘Carnival Parade’; because afterall this is among the main things of what it’s all about. All the best to you my dear in your endeavors. To all the girls as well. But I extend you my personal compliments. I have seen many of your photos, not just the parade’s, and I think you have all what it takes to do God, your self, and country well. Looking forward to an enjoyable carnival season; hopefully peaceful /incident free, and at all the major shows.

So much concern about the Health problems among our people, obesity among our aging population and youth, diabeties and all these chronic diaeases, where was the float to raise the level of consciousness for a healthy life style, this was a fitting momentmin the midst of all the bachannal on saturday on the streets of the capital. Is the ministry of health sleeping? Expressing concern about these health issues in the news will not cut it.

some people are unable to handle different, and a sense of creativity. It’s all part of being in a Carnival Parade. In my opinion it is an appropriate expression of being artistic and in the spirit of what Carnival reflections are all about.

We all enjoyed the parade. The costumes were great. ALL the girls for the various pageants looked great.

My only fault were with those on certain floats handing out freebies. I asked for a free LIME gift and was told they were limited. One lady got more than one gift, and one young man on the float actually admitted (rudely) that they were being selective as to who got a gift. My guest were surprised to this bold admission. I then explained about the who you know culture.

We understand that not everyone can be given a free gift, but these freebies were mostly handed out to family and friends.

Thank you DNO for “showcasing” our happy
people of Dominica having fun.For those Dominicans leaving abroad I am almost certain
most of them wish they were in Dominica. It is
very emotional for me to see my people having
so much fun despite our own problems in the country. We are people of resilience and endurance and we can maintain that happy spirit to move our country foward. So many happy people it is an awesome feeling
Thank u God for my country and all that is within it.Happy people voted the 10th Happiest people of the World.

Oh we don’t pay yo see still images?

Again I ask see media dno and NM to please consider having sponsors to host live streams. This is not the 90s. No other island ask outside IP addresses to buy live streams of shows and carnival. Again try getting ads. That can pay for the cost to stream. Don’t do it and expect competition that will do this. Who do you think gonna get the most views hence moreover due to ads?

Look DNO if you want to provide picture viewing as part of your product please do so in more user friendly way. A viewer should be able to go through a slide show of the pic. Right now is very difficult to load each pic and then go back to load the next. Not helpful for viewing and all the hard work of loading a ton of pictures on the site is just wasted.

      January 29, 2012

I do agree. A slide show is viewer-friendly.

    • January 30, 2012

      @Annonymous

I am not sure what your problem was, and though at this point you have 23 thumbs up, all I did was click on “view with picklens”–as advised above– and I simply relaxed and watched every picture on full screen–Yes! Like a slideshow.

I have had the privilege to watch a large set of pictures that way, from DNO, many times before.

Great!! Sensay costume is back in Roseua in full force. South city must show them how it’s done neatly. History could not be destroyed despite the ruthless Patrick John onslaught on our culture in South City.
