DOWASCO informs residents of River Street and the general public that we will be carrying out excavation works to section of the public road on River Street/Stadium Road to facilitate installation of sewer network for the Government Housing Project on Sunday September 20,
2020 between the hours of 8:00am and 3:00pm.
All traffic approaching the Stadium Road will be redirected unto Valley Road and River Bank during this period. Vehicle owners are asked to keep the road clear during the said works; motorist and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution.
DOWASCO regrets any inconvenience that may be caused and thanks customers and the general public for their understanding.
People need decent housing, with the accent on decent. However, putting housing along a river bed is questionable, not only to avoid polluting the river but the danger of flooding. This is not safe and I hope we are not creating another Silver Lake situation I’m sure Reggie or any of the govt. Ministers would not want to live in that development himself and we can ask why not? And I do not want to turn Roseau river Into an open sewer either. Will sewage be piped across the river to the Dowasco treatment plant by the sea, across from the China Friendship Bridge. I hope so because I’m not sure that broken sewage line that was there has been fixed and is no longer spewing noxious stuff in the river by that bridge. In any case I will not buy titiwi from there or the Layou river again. No surprise we have so much cancer in our people.
