Until we move on from direct river catchment to reservoirs, water interruptions will continue every time we have moderate rainfall. In addition to storage, a reservoir serves as its own filtration plant.

Since Roman times, reservoirs have been the preferred method of water catchment and storage. There are over 50,000 large reservoirs throughout the world, and countless smaller ones of a size that could serve Dominica.
