ANNOUNCEMENT: Measure your blood pressure; control it; live longer

World Hypertension Day takes place every year on the May 17th, 2022 and unites the world in remembering the importance of hypertension checks and a healthy lifestyle.

The A-MEDIC Clinic joins the World Hypertension Day campaign with the theme “Measure your blood pressure, control it, live longer”. The Clinic reminds Dominicans of the old proverb, prevention is better than cure; and urges all to take steps to maintaining a healthy diet, consume less salt or sodium-based products, monitor your blood pressure, maintain an ideal weight, limit alcohol and exercise frequently.

The A-MEDIC Clinic and its dynamic team took a step in offering free vital checks to include blood pressure checks, blood sugar and telemedicine consultations, where several individuals will benefit. A-Medic Inc, in collaboration with Optipharm Eye Centre, The All-Saints University, and The One Good Deed Foundation has launched a telemedicine project funded by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Dr. Benet Henry, reminds the youth, elderly, disabled, and the working class that there is a close relationship with eye health and hypertension, and encourages all to pay greater attention to their blood pressure. Dr. Henry asserts that, very often hypertension remains undetected and symptom-free at an early stage and is only treated when it has already become a chronic disease.

The Clinic reminds the public of the importance of the management of hypertension in order to prevent complications and having a longer meaningful life. At A-MEDIC were care about your health with Telemedicine. A-MEDIC Clinic is located at 23 Great Marlborough Street, Roseau, Dominica.
