NOTICE

 

THE DOMINICA GEOTHERMAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY LIMITED IS CONDUCTING AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (ESIA) STUDY ON THE ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION NETWORK FROM LAUDAT TO SUGAR LOAF.

 

A SERIES OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION HAS BEEN ORGANIZED AS FOLLOWS:

  1. FOND COLÉ ON SATURDAY 11TH MARCH 2023 FROM 3:30 PM AT THE FOND COLÉ COMMUNITY CENTRE (for residents of Roseau and Environs)
  2. MAHAUT ON SATURDAY 11TH MARCH 2023 FROM 6:30 PM AT THE MAHAUT MARKET (for residents of the West Coast)
  3. PORTSMOUTH ON TUESDAY 14TH MARCH 2023 FROM 6:30 PM AT THE CENTRAL COOPERATIVE CREDIT UNION HALL (for residents of the North)
  4. TRAFALGAR ON WEDNESDAY 15TH MARCH 2023 FROM 6:30 PM AT THE TRAFALGAR RESOURCE CENTRE (for residents of the Roseau Valley)
  5. COLIHAUT ON SATURDAY 18TH MARCH 2023 FROM 3:30 PM AT THE LA PLACE DAM (for residents of the West Coast)
  6. JOSEPH ON SATURDAY 18TH MARCH 2023 FROM 5:30 PM AT THE LAYOU RESOURCE CENTRE

    How many public consultations are you planning to have and for how long? The first one of this public consultations must have been at least 20 years back. You know what, why don’t all you man up for once and tell us that the project is going to be scrapped, due to all you being incompetent. While you are at it, do tell the public how much money has been wasted so far on this project. My educated guess, the best part of US$50 million and counting. There is nothing wrong with the project as such, but the people handling it are totally out of their depth. I’m talking about Skerrit, Henderson, Austrie (prev. Minister for Energy) and all the other DLP ministers that have been paid ‘expenses’ so far for talking talking propaganda.

    These public engagements are intended for the media to overwhelm the public with news about the ghost airport and now the fictitious geothermal energy.

    It would be an excellent thing for the country if these two projects come to fruition. But, with Roosevelt at the helm of government, the possibility of this happening is slim to zero. In fact, these two projects have a 0.0000001% chance of happening. These two plans under the present chronic diseased LIAR are just air castles.
