Condolence message on the passing of Mr. John Fabien

John Fabien

The Minister for Health, Permanent Secretary and Staff join with so many others who knew Mr. John Fabien, former Minister for Health, former Permanent Secretary of Health and Environmental Health Specialist in offering our deepest sympathy on his passing.

Although it is little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in his passing you can celebrate the end of an extensive and productive life.

The Ministry of Health has lost one of its stalwarts in the health fraternity, one who led the early health reforms and drove the Primary Health Care thrust in Dominica.

It is said that “The measure of a life well-lived is not in how much money one has or what possessions they have accumulated, but rather through the lives they touched”. The Ministry of Health has truly lost a mentor and friend because they also loved him.

We convey heartfelt condolences and deep sympathies to his dear wife, children and to the bereaved extended family. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that your loss is felt by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. John Fabien will always be remembered and admired for his outstanding contribution towards the development and advancement of health in Dominica and the Caribbean

In Sympathy,
The Minister for Health and Staff

Deepest condolences to the Familiy and freinds of Mr J. Fabien. He touched the hearts of many. May his soul rest in peace.
State Funneral instead versus Official funneral. He more deserved it than the late Jeff Joe.

john u were one of the few who command wHat i call palimentary respect. Even as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health people could look up to you as a leader and father. I remember the last minutes i spend with you at your bed side at the Hospital days before you passed on. The words you spoke to me was very touching when you said….”son i’m here taking it easy once you live some day you have to die. what matters is you dying knowing your final destiny…..i am safe…you make sure you are”. those words were like motivation to me. i will never forget them. love always comrade. you are gone but will not and never be fogoten. I feel honoured to have known John and called him a friend. Always ready to say a kind word and offer his humble advice. I listened to him in parliament and though his voice was like those who can command attention, his presentation to parliament was bereft of political animosity.
To his family and friends: please accept my deepest condolences.
