Demonstration on modelling for the portrait and figure

Without models, Michelangelo could not have painted the Sistine Chapel Ceiling, and likewise, without Lisa del Giocondo – the mother of five children – Leonardo da Vinci could not have painted the Mona Lisa.

Models for the arts, both male and female, come in all ages, shapes and sizes.  The French sculptor Rodin’s most beautiful nude figure is of a woman in her seventies and Whistler painted the portrait of his mother when she was of the same age.

Potential models, wishing to learn more about modelling for the portrait and figure, are invited to attend an afternoon demonstration given by figurative painter and sculptor Roger Burnett and his wife Denise.

Denise has over twenty years experience in modelling for the arts and, like Lisa del Giocondo, she is the mother of five children!

The session will be held at the Antrim Valley Sculpture Studio on Saturday 24th June, beginning at2.00pm.   Attendance is free, but places are limited and it is necessary to enroll beforehand.

Oh please, our African culture is filled with so many wonderful sculpture and paintings, why do you quote these European people as if they are the leaders in arts? Makes me sick to my stomach.

You have no clue who the artist and his wife are, do you? Your ignorance is showing, wear it like a badge of honor.
