The Sports Division’s organized 2012 Quenchi Soft Drinks Primary Schools Cricket Championship will bowl off on Monday June 11, 2012 at the Botanic Gardens.
The Josephine Gabriel sponsored championship is an annual feature on the Sports Division’s Calendar of Activities and is a limited overs cricket competition suited for the boys of the Primary Schools.
The schools around the island have been grouped together in eight districts and are expected compete against each other at various venues around the island to include Grand Bay, Jolly John Park, Benjamin’s Park and Dublanc, Lio Park, Macoucherie and Pointe Michel
This year, the opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 am on Monday June, 11. Remarks are expected to come from Mr. Trevor Shillingford – Sports Coordinator, His Worship Cecil Joseph – Mayor of Roseau, a representative of Josephine Gabriel & Company Hon. Justina Charles – Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports.
Following the ceremony – the West Central team will come up against the South West Team in the 1st match of the Championship.

Its good to see that Josephine Gabriel can sponsor that important program of the Sports Division. Even if the students are under 13 years old I hope all the stake holders in cricket are coming together to get a good working team together and not pulling against each other.
Sports Division seem to be doing the right thing.
