Financial Controller VACANCY

Core Function: To Manage the financial resources of DOWASCO to ensure optimal use of assets, propriety of financial operations and adequacy of cash flow.

Duties &

Responsibilities

The officer shall be assigned to DOWASCO’s Finance Department and report to the General Manager.

• Participate in DOWASCO’s Strategic Planning
• Guide Management and Board in the development of the company’s long-range budget.
• Performs financial evaluation, monitoring and reporting of Capital and other projects.
• Review and monitor long range capital plans and budgets of the company to those plans
• Review departmental draft budgets for compliance with directions and suggest changes as necessary
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial reports
• Monitors revenues and expenditures
• Manages the Company’s Stores and Procurement functions including policy guidelines and implementation
• Supervises the Company’s credit control staff
• Liaises with the Company’s external auditor to ensure timely annual audit of the financial statements of the Company
• Undertake other relevant assignments for the benefit and development of DOWASCO in relation to the assigned tasks.

Education and Experience Requirements

• A professional qualification (CGA, ACCA, CA) or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 5 years experience at a Senior accounting level field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

• Abilities to supervisor staff assigned
• Excellent strategic, planning and organization skills
• Considerable knowledge and skills in accounting software packages
• Good interpersonal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written format.
• Working knowledge of budgetary, accounting and reporting systems
• Adequate knowledge in International Financial, Accounting and Reporting Requirements– IFRS
• Ability to prepare and analyse complex financial reports; ability to maintain efficient and effective financial systems and procedures.
