Manager Operations & Maintenance VACANCY

Core Function:                 To plan organize, direct and control DOWASCO’s operations activities towards achievement of optimum efficiency and effectiveness

Duties &

Responsibilities

The officer shall be assigned to DOWASCO’s Operations and Maintenance Department and report to the General Manager.

• Participate in DOWASCO’s Strategic Planning process and lead the operational planning of the Operations Department in support of the Company’s overall corporate goals and objectives.
• Conduct research into feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and water systems
• Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery, equipment and systems
• Analyse DOWASCO’s systems and structures
• Supervise and inspect the installation, modification and commissioning of water systems.
• Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs and provide guidance to staff under his or her supervision
• Develop procedures for the efficient operations of the Operation & Maintenance Department and submit to the General Manager for approval prior to implementation
• Undertake other relevant assignments for the benefit and development of DOWASCO in relation to the assigned tasks.

Education and Experience Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Extensive experience in an engineering discipline.
• Experience working with a water utility in a similar field would be an advantage

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

• Supervisory techniques
• Excellent strategic , planning and organization skills
• Considerable knowledge and skills in technical work
• Good interpersonal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written format.
• Ability to prepare technical reports
