Based on my understanding of the COVID 19 Report as of 13 January 2022
7,822 people have contracted the Virus
7,169 people have recovered
48 people have died
605 people people who contracted the Virus are currently active cases
When you add up 7,169 + 48 + 605 = 7,822
Based on Dominica’s estimated population of 72,260, 10.82% of the population has contracted the COVID 19 virus to date.
Based on the 7,822 people infected to date, 7,169 people or 91.7% of the people infected have recovered to date, 48 people or 0.6% of the people have died, and 605 or 7.7% are currently actively infected.
Based on the information presented only about 11% of the population contracted the COVID 19 virus.
Of those taking the vaccines, if 28,721 people have taken their second dose does it imply first and second doses? If this is the case, does it mean that of the 31,006 people taking the first dose that 2,285 of these people still require to take their second dose.
Does it also mean that as of 13 January 2022, approximately 41,254 or 57% Dominicans have still not taken their first vaccine dose. If this is the case I am calling on more Dominicans to take greater interest and responsibility for the health and wellbeing and PLEASE go get tested and take the vaccine because the vaccine saves lives.
I have taken my both shots and the booster, all Oxford Astra-Zeneca. You should go take the vaccine too. And please follow the COVID 19 protocols and make Dominica a safer place for all
