Dominica deemed safe travel destination for US citizens

Dominica is among six countries in the Eastern Caribbean been deemed as safe for citizens of the United States to travel.

According to the Centre for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), the other countries that have no travel notice issued against them are Anguilla, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Lucia as the risk of contracting COVID-19 in these countries is ‘very low’.

However, the CDC has listed as level 3 – the British Virgin Islands, Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin, Sint Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks & Caicos Islands, and the US Virgin Islands.

Level 3 means that the likelihood of contracting the virus is “high, very high”. Virtually all other Caribbean countries are also listed as level 3.

For these countries, the CDC urges travelers to “avoid” and consider postponing non-essential travel.

The US regularly issues travel warnings and alerts against countries because of widespread violence and natural disasters.

But this doesn’t mean that persons are banned from visiting any country flagged by the US.

Due to the pandemic, almost all countries have been placed on the CDC’s COVID-19 Travel Recommendations by Destination.

How these Americans get here if they must pass through these level 3 islands first. I suppose is only for passengers traveling by private jet direct to Melville Hall and don’t have to quarantine for fortnight at Bubbles place. I suppose it even have some Dominicans like that.

Gee, I wonder why those countries became level 3 in the first place. Certainly not because they let Americans and other foreigns run wild… This kind of advertising going to attract the worst set; the non-mask wearers who swear they not sick and don’t quarantine.

Just the fact that the CDC is trying to appeal to covid-infested America at the expense of small countries with fragile economies is amazing. We literally squeeze up between two level 3 and they calling for American to pass their germs on us. Wow.

lets be real, Americans would need to know that Dominica exists before they come here . And even if they know of Dominica – Americans wont come to Dominica.

Keep Dominica Safe. Americans are still debating if the virus is real or not, these are the people we want coming here to spread this virus. We need to move away from his dependency on tourism.

Yes but US citizens are NOT safe for Dominica. The tone of the headline suggests that we are good enough for them now. But in the scheme of things they are a risk to our nation’s wellbeing, All in the pursuit of dollars. The efforts are noted but we know that America is a big hotspot (with over 8mil cases.)

But it’s actually better for medicine to visit the infected countries rather than the nine infected ones. America has a high infection rate . If they visit a country with a low infection rate they will only infest that country. It’s better if they visit a country that already has a high infection rate and keep from infecting clean countries
