ABLP narrowly retains power in Antigua and Barbuda

For a third consecutive term, the Antigua and Barbuda Labor Party, headed by Gaston Browne, has been re-elected into office in what was a very competitive general election.

Although the ABLP claimed election victory and a number of its stalwarts held on to their seats, the party suffered several losses too.

The ABLP claimed nine seats in total, a downward shift down from its former 15.

The Barbuda People’s Movement retained the one seat that it had held for two terms and the independent candidate for St Peter, Asot Michael, won his seat.

Meanwhile, Asot Michael, who was ousted from the ABLP party amid a bitter fallout with leaders, claimed 2,137 votes against ABLP candidate Rawdon Turner who received 899.

The UPP’s Tevaughn Harriette got 541 and the DNA’s Chaneil Imhoff claimed 29.

Incoming Prime Minister Gaston Browne told reporters that he sees the results as a blessing that could create the opportunity for renewal.

“We do not see this as a bad thing per se, we see it as an opportunity at the same time. However, I want to thank my colleagues who have served my country well and we will not leave them out in the cold…”

Browne also acknowledged that his ministers had become a bit complacent.

Truth be told, after two terms, some ministers become lethargic, they don’t have the will to fight. One of our issues is the fact that some of our colleagues didn’t have the energy to mobilize…in any case, it will be an example for new leadership to ensure that no matter what…if you have been given two terms you have to put in the same energy…”, Browne added.

The new Cabinet is expected to be sworn in on Friday.

Boy Mr Brown got in the belly of the whale but the whale speared him. Like Roosevelt Skerrit you realize both of these guys are using that 666 date for their election. Mr Brown’s date was on the 18 so 6x6x6=18 or 666. But check this out again. UPP won 6 seats and 6 votes were the margin of victory for UPP. So Mr Brown maybe ur 666 number may have saved you but here is a prediction or a prophetic word from the old prophet :
Mr Brown you will not end 2023 as PM of Antigua .
Mr Brown you will be on a very long vacation in the US before December 18, 2023
Mr Brown you will be filing for your friend PM Roosevelt Skerrit, so he could join you in the US before December 18, 2023 so that where you are there he will be also

Brown narrowly escaped defeat and a free VIP ticket to the USA. Boy not only that but Brown narrowly found himself in a position where he would be forced to send a free VIP ticket to Roosevelt Skerrit, where both of them would be in a foreign hotel for life! Here is how close it was: ABlP 9 seats UPP 6 seats and independent 2 seats. So Brown missed a US free trip by 1 seat and here is how that one seat went:
    St John’s City East

    ABLP Melford Nicholas-791

    UPP Harold Lovell-785

    DNA Leon Smith-13
Difference of 6 votes and Mr Brown would be awarded with a free vip ticket to the US, wher he would no doubt file for Roosevelt Skerrit.

Although the ABLP spent north of 10 million dollars (some political analysts have surmised), yet, the difference between them them retaining power and not the main opposition was by a mere six (6) votes.

Gaston days as prime minister are just around the corner. Like his leashed dog, Roosevelt, both have put their countries and citizens in dire straits. The economies of these two countries are comatose. Their national debt is stratospheric.

Both of these congenital LIARS are verbal contortionists. They use lies to convince their unlettered diehards.

Brown, your days in ANU are numbered, the same way Skerrits days in DA are numbered. Not long!

Surely the writer could have summarized the results such that the reader could easily discern the number of seats that went to the government and the opposition parties.
