Beginning this week, the Government of Dominica will launch a series of press conferences to provide updates on ongoing Government projects.
“The first press conference in the series will be held on Monday, January 13 2025 at 11:00 AM and will provide updates on the Dominica Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and the Climate Resilience Project, and the Disaster vulnerability Reduction Project (DVRP) specifically the east coast road project and the progress on lot 2, which is the section of road stretching from Castle Bruce to Hatton Garden, through the Kalinago Territory,” Government’s Press Secretary Dionne Durand-Smith said.
According to her, these projects are among several current interventions designed to enhance Dominica’s resilience to climate change, improve infrastructure, and strengthen agricultural livelihoods.
Addresses are expected to come from Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy, Roland Royer, Minister for Public Works, Public Utilities and the Digital Economy Fidel Grant, Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy Jullan Defoe, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy Ryan Anselm and Consultant Engineer, East Coast Road Project Kendall Johnson.

Funny enough banana grows in a year, dasheen 6 months, so to are all thr root tubers and short term crops we plant. So 7 years after Maria we still have effects on these crops? This is laughable. a normal tree crop takes 2 to 5 years to start bearing based on type of tree crop. yet 7 years later we still using Maria and pandemic.
