Police Welfare representatives from around the region meeting in Cayman Islands

As of Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Welfare Representatives from around the Caribbean began to converge on the Cayman Islands for its 9th Intercessional Meeting of the Caribbean Federation of Police Welfare Associations (CFPWA).

The welfare associations and federations around the region will be meeting under the theme “Evolving with a purpose; building the future of Police Welfare through a shared vision.” from November 24th – 25th 2022 at Ritz Carlton Hotel, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.

Among the items listed on the Agenda for discussion are the working conditions, compensation of Police, lack of proper protective equipment as well as the need for a disaster relief fund for Police Officers. We note the challenges faced by our members when natural disasters affect our countries especially, the Police Officers who have to be out there serving and protecting others whilst they too are greatly impacted.

“We extend our gratitude to Royal Cayman Islands Police Service Commissioner Derek Byrne and more so the Cayman Islands Police Service Welfare Chairman Pompey, Treasurer Watson, and their hardworking Secretariat for being our gracious host”, according to President Chicot.

The CFPWA will make a small donation to the Red Bay Primary School Toy drive.

I did not see invading Dominica on the itinerary to be discussed.

If you misbehave on election day, we might just call them in.
