President of Dominica calls for an end to RUS and UKR war, Cuba’s trade embargo and US sanctions against Venezuela

H.E. Charles Savarin

Russia faced withering criticism during the United National General Assembly earlier this week, with most members including Dominica, calling on the Kremlin to end its war against Ukraine.

During his speech at the 77th session of the general assembly, President of Dominica His Excellency Charles Savarin noted that the invasion of one country by another must always be condemned “and Dominica has condemned the invasion of Ukraine without reservation.”

While calling for an immediate secession from the conflict he stressed that in this interconnected world what happens in one part of the globe affects us all, and this has been the case with the ongoing war.

“We are all victims of the skyrocketing prices of oil and petroleum products and the resultant impact on the cost of electricity and on all aspects of transportation,” Savarin said.

“The cost of production of goods and services is similarly adversely affected and as Russia and Ukraine are among the leading suppliers of grain this conflict has created a shortage in the world’s supply of grain with implications for hunger in countries which rely on imports of grain from these two countries,” he added.

The head of state further remarked that Dominica also welcomes the deal which was brokered between Ukraine and Russia with the assistance of Turkey, ably supported by the UN’s secretary general to have significant quantities of grain shipped from Ukrainian ports to various destinations, thereby alleviating the emerging global food crisis.

In the interest of global peace, Savarin urged all parties to continue upholding their end of this agreement. The president also highlighted that Dominica embraces the signing of the elimination of nuclear weapons as outlined in the United Nations charter for the maintenance of international peace and security and called on all states who have nuclear weapons to abide by international law for the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and the use of diplomacy as a tool for conflict resolution.

Savarin went on to highlight that the trade and economic embargo imposed against Cuba continues to be of great concern to Dominica “and the lifting of it has become more urgent in light of the global impact of the Russian Ukraine war on food security.”

“The commonwealth of Dominica continues to join its voice with the voices of the overwhelming majority of members of this global organization to call for the immediate lifting of the unjustified trade restrictions and export bans imposed on the good people of Cuba,” he declared.

The president continued, “It has long been established that whatever the objectives were 60 years ago when this embargo was instituted it can no longer be justified if it ever was.”

The United States embargo against Cuba prevents American businesses, and businesses organized under U.S. law or majority-owned by American citizens, from conducting trade with Cuban interests. It is the most enduring trade embargo in modern history.

The US first imposed an embargo on the sale of arms to Cuba on March 14, 1958, during the Fulgencio Batista regime, and on February 7, 1962, the embargo was extended to include almost all exports.

Savarin stressed that the government of Dominica “strongly urges” the few states who continue to support these sanctions to heed the call of the overwhelming majority and lift this “archaic and unfair” embargo against Cuba and “let us all support the full integration of the Cuban people into the global financial and trading

Meantime the president also added his voice to the calls for the end of the US and other countries’ imposed sanctions against Venezuela which pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to national security and foreign policy.

“In March of 2015 the United States declared Venezuela as posing an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States and imposed sanctions on that country,” the President stated.

He made known that the consequences of these sanctions prevent millions of Venezuelans from meeting the most basic needs made even worse by the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

“The Commonwealth of Dominica again joins the voices of many other members of this global organization to call for the immediate lifting of the unjustified oil embargo and other general sanctions imposed on the people of Venezuela,” he said. “The political, economic, social and humanitarian crisis in Venezuela demands immediate attention.”

His Excellency added that it is further incumbent on all members of the UN to provide short and long-term solutions and opportunities for Venezuela to resolve its challenges and quickly improve the lives of ordinary Venezuelans.

Boy, Kindergarten Clown that is a lie, and I am going to give you a whipping lesson you will never forget.
Because the US entered a program with Russia does not mean friendship, count that as cor-porting to find a solution to some of human survival in the future; and even since the invasion of Ukraine the Russians threatened to sabotage the space laboratory; but their endeavor failed since the United States anticipated conning ways. Even if they are in Space with the United States, the United States can do without their help.

Clown; you talk about the United Killed people in war, watch this!

Soviet involvement in Vietnam was a covert deployment of Soviet troops and equipment to Vietnam and the neighboring country of Laos (and possibly Cambodia) during the Vietnam War (1955-1975). The USSR’s forces in Laos were commanded by Colonel Lev Kravchenko , who gave support to the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong while testing the Nova 6 chemical weapon against local villagers.
Do you know how many millions they murdered in Laos?

Have you ever heard of the Killing Fields, or seen the movie “the killing fields.” well that was not just drama, it is a movie based on facts a true story.

I am going to brief you on what the soviet did in Afghanistan, I will do it in a new submission; don’t mess with me head boy because I will take you out cold with history, everyday affairs, while pull things out of thin air, everything I write can be authenticated.

So, Clown here are some of the atrocities committed and perpetrated on poor civilians in Afghanistan by your communists Russia when they occupied Afghanistan.

“The Afghan civil war, which started in 1979, prompted the Soviet army to intervene by occupying Afghanistan. During the 10 year occupation, Afghan civilians were raped by Soviets and their allies.”

From Terra Viva article Court would have been Lifeline for Afghan Women:

“The widespread rape and torture of women during the years of the Soviet occupation after 1979 was well documented by Amnesty International and by UN reports, she added.”

“The criminals, mainly Soviet soldiers but also Afghan soldiers supporting the Marxist-Leninist government at that time, went unpunished. Most women had lost a close male relative under Soviet occupation,” said Shorish-Shamley, whose brother had been killed by the pro-Soviet regime.
The Russians killed children by running them over with Tanks.

      So be quiet you Roosevelt…

I tend to agree with Charles Savarin because it’s not fair for the people to suffer as a result of bad and corrupt leaders like the one in Dominica. But Charles Savarin should remind the people of the actions he took in 1978 to get rid of Patrick John and the DLP government for accusations far less than the broad daylight corruption taking place in Dominica today. Charles Savarin should told the UN that instead of punishing the people with sanctions, they should hold corrupt and evil leaders like Roosevelt Skerrit responsible and jail their tail. Look to deal with slow overate in test Cricket ICC took a decision to go after the captain of the violating team by suspending him . That’s whywe need the UN to do in Dominica and other corrupt countries

How come I did not see Savarin’s speech featured on CNN, BBC or ABC News? I wonder who heard or paid attention to his call for Russia to end its hostilities towards Ukraine?

When these tiny jurisdictions address the UN every September, there are more empty chairs than people. They talk to ghosts. Only a member of their delegation records and publishes their speeches for the consumption of the few interested people back home. That’s the incontrovertible truth.

Only himself, and Roosevelt Skerrit nuh!

To their supporters in Dominica, is big deal because they hear Savarin address UN not knowing as usual he spoke to an practically empty room.
There are approximately 193 countries in the United Nations, so that means the building should be filled during any presentation, unfortunately, when it is time for the Banana Republics such as Dominica time to speak, not even Roosevelt friends China, and Russia are present.

All the European; North American nations including Canada, the United States, and Mexico, and into the South American countries walks out!

Who has got the time to listen to a bunch of corrupted thieving crooks of a Banana Republic?

“We are all victims of the skyrocketing prices of oil and petroleum products and the resultant impact on the cost of electricity and on all aspects of transportation,” Charles Savarin).
Be warned Savarin, Roosevelt Skerrit, the corrupted crook has established diplomatic relationship with communists Russia. He is friends to a man who kills his opponents, and people who opposes him.
Even if they do not reside in Russia haunts them down wherever they are in the world and assassinate then
Recently, we saw opponent of Putin who said the war against Ukraine is wrong, days later he was thrown from a window of a multi-story building in Moscow; nevertheless, the dictators in Russia said he committed suicide!
With that said be informed it matters not what your babbling are, you voice is meaningless in any matter withing the UN. Your voice is not heard talking to an empty room!
All the countries you are defending are corrupted, so is Dominica: Overthrow Roosevelt then I’ll listen to you!

Savarin: the kid doh finish yet eh!
And so I’m appealing to you known to me as a master who knows how skillful you are in the art of creating and organizing insurrections; and chaos such as the one you used to mastermind the overthrow of your very own political party led by the late Prime Minister Patrick John!

Yes boy, you know how to create complete disorder, and confusion; that’s what it will take to remove Roosevelt Skerrit from our nation institution of government. You are talking about cost of electricity in Dominica?
You need to hush, shut up; where it pertains to that because Dominica has the greatest potential besides Guyana for hydroelectricity; all that has to be done is utilize the rivers in the country to produce hydroelectricity, that is the cheapest way of generating electricity!
You are forcing your head in a hole where your body can’t go through even if you remove your bullet-proof-vest!
Careful Roosevelt don’t fire you for condemning Putin war!

It is good that His Excellency is calling for an end to international and regional wars, sanctions, and embargoes, but does charity no longer begin at home? We know of many subtle wars, strife, sanctions, and embargoes allegedly waged and imposed on certain employees, individuals, and segments of our society simply because of differing ideologies. For a glaring example, perhaps His Excellency, on his return to the island, can ask his driver to take him on a tour through the village where the airport is located. It is sad that the powers that be have not been able to create an enabling environment to truly epitomize the mantra, “All Shall Eat.”
