I enjoy reading Lie Client’s comments, all of them. They are so insightful; written with such rare eloquence; get such positive attention and reviews. The man should get the Nobel Prize for his literary work. They are all master pieces.

Everybody who reads his comments knows I’m being outrageously sarcastic.

Sir, you speak with a forked tongue. All along you have criticized the police for being an over zealous agency of the ruling party. Now you are calling them impotent and want them to be more proactive.

Be careful what you ask for. Believe me, living in a proactive police state is no picnic. You might as well kiss your individual rights and freedoms good bye.

Dominica would be better served by a government that invests in initiatives that strive to make our idling and disenchanted youths more motivated, relevant and productive citizens.

I wholeheartedly agree with your final sentence. However, I stand unflinchngly by my previous comments.

The police get paid by taxpayers. It’s their duty to serve the people and not serve at the behest of Roosevelt Skerrit, which they do. They are not independent. They act like a loose gang of hooligans that use brute force to intimidate the few citizens who dare to cross their imaginary line of compliance to their flawed ‘doctrines’.

Dominicans will never achieve their fullest potential once Skerrit occupies the office of the PM. He Must Go Now!

@Uh Hugh, as I read your comment I found it a bit difficult to come to terms what you wrote. I do agree with you pertaining to the constant, senseless critics against the Police Force.

However, your idea about the Government not being initiative enough, to motivate those whom you called idling and disenchanted youths, is quite unreasonable.

What you have suggested is that those young people have the right to make their living by those disgusting and disgraceful conducts, such as is mentioned in the News Article. Some of them even go as far as taking the lives of their victims–how is this right?

How can those in question ever learn to adjust to some form of rightful living, when we continue to accept their habits by blaming it on the Government?

Read below, what Wise King Solomon said about the ant, as compared to those who conduct themselves through such unfair manner. What do you think about that?

      • March 16, 2022

The Folly of Indolence Proverbs 6: Verses 7-11

Go to the ant, you sluggard!
Consider her ways and be wise, which, having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.

How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep—So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.

Solomon is simply telling us that even the ants knows when to come out from their nest to go and fend for theirselves. However, there are those human beings who indulge in laziness–to sleep and wake up whenever they feel like doing so. But they want the things that hardworking people have.

They are the ones who prowl around like armed men to get what they need. Their victims are left to suffer the pain–how can that behavior be the fault of the Government?

elizabethlxavier, I am not here to praise nor bury the current administration. Neither do I take humbrage with the incorruptible and infallible word of the Most High. I am simply pointing out an obvious area of opportunity where any government can allocate energy and resources to bring about tangible and positive change for a country’s youth.

Obedience to the commandments of God and abiding to the laws of civil society should absolutely be taught at home. I definitely agree with you that each individual bares redponsibility for choosing his or her own path and whom they will serve.

It is so very sickening to hear of these incidents involving guns and every such incident reaffirms my view that our illegal gun legislation is in urgent need of review.

It is simply too easy for lawyers to represent owners and users of illegal firearms and the penalties for owners and users of these firearms are simply too mild. The penalties must be such that no one ever thinks of handling an illigal gun.

Partially in agreement with what you are saying. However, a government cannot legislate a behaviour based on societal problems out of existence. Like it or not, there will ALWAYS be crime hence a need for the police.

Crime fighting has to be targeted in away that underlying root causes are identified and addressed. If we address poverty and the political nepotism engulfing our beloved country then we will see less crime since those who are useless, unemployed and trying to survive by any means today will become gainfully employed tomorrow. Sadly, its been proven that an increase in crimes is a reflection of lack of, or failed government policies especially pertaining to the youth.

Gason I dont believe that nou. It easy for Meals, Christian and other members of the gang to put that movie out and next thing blame it on people. We have seen that thing before when evil people burn the house of GON Emanuel and blamed innocent people for it. Them some evil people arranged to kidnap Choksi and bring him here and the rest is history. Some evil people burn down Rozeau and vandalized the place and blamed it on the opposition. Boy

I hate to say that but if that’s what Dominicans have to do to drive those Chinese out of Dominica they have to do it before it’s too late because the way Skerrit going there boss it clear that the blood of Dominicans will have to be shed to get our country back. So if we can destroy that wood ants before they destroy us we might as well do it

Dominicans abroad are not threatening to take any country. Chinese are a big threat to us and if Skerrit serves for 50 yrs as he once said no doubt Dominica will be given to China just as Skerrit officially gave Bird Island to Venezuela

Cheeez, I know Dominica has deteriorated over the last 10 yrs but I wonder if that story is even true. With the last Chinese death in Marigot two weeks ago and seeing how the Chinese Ambassador quickly pleaded with the government of Skerrit and the Skerrit police force for protection of Chinese, I really wonder if the one man Government of Skerrit, the police force of Skerrit and the Chinese did not put that fake story out so they could have a valid reason to start to shoot Dominicans

This news goes out overseas and does nothing at all to attract anyone to come and settle. Even tourists must be on their guard now. Boy, Dominica getting weade now for real.

Crimes towards the Chinese seem to be rising. Do they look like an easy target to take advantage of? And when they try to defend themselves and their property, Dominicans like to put them in the wrong. Leave these people alone.

The Chinese are not in dominica for no reason. If this blatant violence and racism isn’t handled accordingly then the Chinese Goverment will take notice and we will all pay for it.

Not paying taxes is robbing the state. Politicians not accounting to the people for money generated and spent is robbing the state. Wealth that cannot be explained by you earnings is robbing state. Hustling hatians to make passport and generating large sums of money that slips financial oversight is as criminal as it gets. Armed robbery is a crime. The weapons of choice is the office some hold. Don’t police use guns? Dominica is ran like a crime syndicate. Why are the Chinese not using our banking system if the are generating all this revenue? It seems they are in the business of siphoning revenue out of the country. Dominicans need to realize all these are symptom s of the country we have cultivated through diabolical leadership

The Chinese are here strictly to make a windfall for themselves. They are not here to provide the native Dominicans with jobs nor to elevate our standard of living.

How many of the local eateries, bars or businesses do they patronize? Do they ever try to assimilate to the Dominican culture or society? They expatriate all their profits to China.

I am not in the business of bashing and demeaning immigrants. However, I must speak the truth. The Chinese are annihilating our local businesses, getting our choicest chunks of land, they will soon recolonize Dominica. Visas free access has already being granted to them. The road to this eventuality (recolonization) is now unimpeded.

Unemployment + Poverty = Serious Crimes This is truth that cannot be refuted.

I don’t condone crimes especially those that involve guns and other deadly weapons. Some say we should stop these aggravated assaults and murders in the bud but the horses are already out of the gates.

Every citizen and resident in Dominica should be alarmed at this frightening spate of gun crimes. This time it happened to the Chinese but it could be anyone from among the citizenry the next time. Crime does not discriminate.

The police are mostly impotent for they have no definitive crime prevention measures nor strategies in place at present. They are reactive instead of proactive. The resident population is at the mercy of the criminals. Imagine that!
