Members of the media today staged a walk-out at a press conference called by Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley who reportedly refused to admit one media representative into the conference.
The media personnel who the Premier sought to bar was Cindy Rosan of Guavaberry Media.
As members of the various media entities (including Rosan) sat and waited for the Premier to commence the conference, which was scheduled to start at 2pm, Chief Information Officer at the Government Information Service (GIS) Desiree Smith approached Rosan to have a private conversation.

Most of these Caribbean heads of government want to control everything in their country. The longer they stay in power the more corrupt and dictatorial they become.
These men of straw want cotton candy questions from the media like what presently obtains in Dominica. The tough, probing questions they give long evasive responses to or become irate.
In any country (Dominica is a perfect example) where the vast majority of the inhabitants are beggared, corruption is rampant and the news media worthless or collude with the oppressive incumbent regime.

As I well know, censorship in one form or another is nothing new in the BVI.
Thirty years ago two of my publications, “Right to a Father” and “Justice in Jeopardy”, were banned by a Court Order orchestrated by a favoured family linked to the judiciary.
You see, in Dominica not one single member of the media/press would have the guts to do this. This is a prime example of what a grip this CM has on the citizens. I have been saying it so many times, the time will come very soon, when this man can’t be challenged at all anymore and we will experience similar things as they happen in North Korea as we speak. The ruling party will be replaced by the ruling family and they will be in charge of all government departments. I warned all you 15 years ago, that we are heading in that direction.
Why don’t you see things for what they are and not on your ideological or political partisan beliefs, would you carry this behavior in a Courtroom, lol.
