Certified for Employment

Certified vocational training in Dominica ensures that our young men and women develop the competencies they need for work, including social competencies that add value to any organization, and are appreciated by employers.

Ms Vanessa Benjamin first joined the staff of JAYS LTD as an Intern having completed the Youth Division Certificate in Computer Literacy. This programme was supported by SkYE Caribbean and included courses in IT, business skills, and office etiquette, as well as valuable work experience through an internship. JAYS Ltd HR Manager, explains why. ‘’Each time we decided to re-engage Ms Benjamin, it was based on her work ethic and general positive deportment. This appointment has been as a result of her performance and commitment in her temporary engagements’’. (Juliet Lewis, HR Manager, JAYS Ltd).

For her internship, Vanessa was placed at JAYS Ltd, in Customer Services in the Sales Department. She then had two temporary engagements. When a vacancy arose for a Customer Service Representative, JAYS re-engaged Ms Benjamin and she is now confirmed in permanent employment.
