This video from innerlight media, featuring Simon Sinek, British-American author and motivational speaker, discusses the effect that phones and unrestricted access to social media is having on kids and ultimately their ability to function as adults in all aspects of their lives. It already has over 37 millions views and counting. What do you think?
To be quite frank, the issue is not with social media per se but is, in fact, the issue lies within the hands to which it is placed. I think, however, access to the internet intensifies the personalities of persons. And I can speak it. My phone when I am out is nearby, where I can hear it when I am out of the house, when I am home, it is the last thing on my mind, always unable to find it. I am a family oriented persons, whose phone is used to stay closer to the family. My son loves crafting, you will find him on the internet looking up how to craft things, however, if his friends are mending something, he is outside. And there are a lot more. A jokester is rarely on the phone when around persons, a hard worker is rarely on the phone at work and always on the computer at home. A recluse uses a phone as a buffer. The thing I believe is that we were never given a proper introduction to the internet. A how-to guide. But parents, this is where we come in.
