“But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” Isaiah 43:1.
Many Christians today have lost their identity, not knowing who they are or whose they are. God has created each of us as individuals. No two people are alike, not even identical twins. God has created each of us for a purpose and it is not His will that we become carbon copies of each other. As we look in the Bible we see that God called Moses to deliver the children of Israel. He called Esther to deliver the Jewish people. He called Jeremiah to be a prophet to the nations.
As children of God we are all called to follow Jesus Christ and as we do that He will lead us to our divine destines and the purpose for which we have be created.
However many have lost their way because they have chosen to be who people want them to be and do what others want them to do instead of what God has called them to do. Many are striving to be like others instead of striving to be like Jesus Christ. Jesus said in St. John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” Are you bearing fruit or are you barren?
Are you seeking God for yourself and asking Him what His will is for your life or are you depending on others to tell you what God wants you to do? It is important as saints that we know the voice of God for ourselves and that can only happen when we spend quality time in the presence of the Lord. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” St. John 10:27 Jesus has called us to follow Him. If we chose to follow others and not follow Jesus Christ we can lose our way.
Remember Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. The path that God has called another brother or sister to walk may not be the path that God has called us to walk. Our experiences, our gifting, our anointing are all different. God gives us what we need for the purpose that He has created us.
Many fail to reach their divine destinies because they compare themselves with others who they think are more spiritual. They waste all their lives wishing they could be and trying to be someone else – trying to sound like that person or trying to act like that person hoping that by doing so they would be that person. For others, their lives are controlled by a person or persons so they become who they want them to be and not who God has called them to be.
Fear of man prevents them from being led by the Holy Spirit and being and doing what God commands them. In the process all happen is they lose their true identity, they live in bondage and they have no real joy or peace. Disobedience has a price.
Worst than not knowing who you are; is not knowing whose you are. In 1 Corinthians 1:11-13 we read of the contentions in the church at Corinth.
“For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. ‘Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?” Our identity should be rooted and grounded in Christ and not in people. Though we are members of particular church and have a shepherd over us, they should never in any way take the place of Jesus Christ in our lives, and they are not to be worshipped as if they are God. Your shepherd should not in any way act as if they own you for that is not of God. “Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being examples to the flock.” 1 Peter 5:3
We encourage you today to seek the face of God and ask Him to reveal to you, who He wants you to be and what He wants you to do. When He does, be obedient to Him. Then and only then can you truly fulfill your divine destiny.
thanks for blessing my heart
Thank you! I am Quite a simple person raised in a small town that the world views as backwards. Im viewed as bubbly and quirky and random. But the behind scenes of all that energy they see is rather not so bubbly. As a child growing up I called on God alot. Since i can remember. When a fight broke out. In my room i would pray for peace and that he make me strong with understanding and loveing. For those i worried for. I also prayed to show me my path. To light it that i may see. To recognize stumbling blocks and storms. He would send me storms in dreams while i slept. He would also reveal things to me that only lately have come to pass. He showed me revalation not just mine, but parts of all that will come to pass.To be in the midst of all his heavenly glory is a fearful, peaceful and good thing. It is also a sad thing for i feel so small and ashamed. But truly do feel joy. He has never left me and has given me my eyes and ears and understanding with all my humblings and humillities. This is how i can have so much energy and bubbly bounce in my step. I am a thirty one year old child who finds joy in the sight of all the things he has created. I play, as my Three sons do. We have forty acres and it is thanks to God. For we run and climb and dig and build as children in play. Enjoying His everyway. I lost this for a while. I went into a strange land full of strangers. He saw to send me back in ways that only he can. Now i have my eyes and ears again. I had them when out, but there were so many blinds. He pulled me from the water for i was drowning. I have pages of these things i speak of that he has done for me. They flow as poetry. He is the only way and Jesus showed it for all to see. The other is a dead life and missery. An enslavement by the beast and his harlot.
That is so true. So many of us Christians strive to be like others and not bringing out our true selves. Let us be who God wants us to be. Let the will of God reign in our lives and let us continue to live our lives in a manner that men will see the goodness of God in us and in turn draw men to the Lord and Saviour of our lives.
To Patience
I know that you are one of us, who has got it right. Let us give the praise to God, for the blessings of wisdom and understanding of His ways of Love in our lives. Amen!
It is sad, but too many churches are filled with people who do not understand what “Fruit Bearing” is according to Jesus’ teachings in John 15. The reason is because they fail to nature a Love relationship with God, in His Person, Jesus Christ. The same way that we cannot give birth to Life if we never conceive a Life in us, it is the same way that there is not going a plant to reproduce crops if we do not plant the seed of that crop. The Word of God is the seed of Love that must be conceived in us that we might give birth to Life in Jesus Christ. This happens through a dedicated, consistent, intimate or personal relationship with God Almighty, by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
But as Christians, most of us simply continue to rely our pastors and priests or leaders of our churches as they bore us to death, with a once-a-week worship program of singing songs, sending prayer request, at which time people always and only ask for material and physical blessings, never calling for the blessing of God’s wisdom and revelation by the power of His Holy Spirit. Then there is the collection plate, following either a 30 minutes of babbling from one set of pastors or 2 hours of wailing and hollering from another set. Most people go home as empty as ever, even if the church leader hails “go in peace and have a blessed week”
Unless we can come to realize that God wants us to become like Him in His Person, Jesus Christ; and this means that we must produce spiritual fruits, the manner by which we allow God to reveal Himself in us to others; it does not matter if we spent our whole Life in church, barrenness is our flaw, and that flaw will not take us anywhere close to God.
our pastor speaks this way and in one of his sermons a question he ask. Are you living? This sent tears to my eyes. and it burned in my heart. My answer silently in my head was ‘NO’ at that time.I watch now and listen. So many still do not understand that question. It does anger me a little. Not for a hatesake but because it hurts. I am a mother and if i were to know i would pass soon. The Hope would be that my children would live in peace with one another and never rob peter to pay paul. That they would be each others strengths and love each other in and with thier whole lives.
For this is also Gods way. But so many i see today fighting at the pass of a father and mother for money and possesions. They have forgotten their First Love. With this they also forget their selves and what they are truly meant for. I wish not to upset even my earthly father. For my life also came through him the first birth. I should live to uphold him not pain him or place my self above him. With out the Heavenly Father we would have nothing and be nothing. Which is why we fail today.
So thank you For shining his light. Thank you God for holding us True. Amen
Glory be to God His will be done.
He is everywhere
He is above, below, all around
and He is with in.
Seek and yee shall find.
Turn a stone.
when eyes closed he opens them.
when eyes opened I see.
A riddle he gave to me.
when ears recieve.
siblings speak.
words spoken do they hear.
off wings sent do whispers come.
like wind.
Like a well he filled for all to drink.
And rain to fall on drouted soil.
to take the heat up off thy head and spark one deep with in.
a flame to touch the heart and warm it once again.
sound words of wisdom
