ALIVE WORD: Let us pray

Ministers Wilbert and Jacqueline Richardson

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.”  St. Luke 18:1b

God has blessed us to see December, 2010.  It is a very special month for many both in and out of the Body of Christ. This month is a month of preparation and a month of decisions. It is important that during this month we spend quality time in prayer and listen to what God is saying to us and be obedient.

For many, the past eleven months have been very challenging but God has been good. At times you might have wondered if you would even make it to this month but praise God, He helped you through and you are alive. That alone is much to be thankful for, considering that many both young and old that begun the year are now deceased.

If you listen daily to the news, you will hear that each day, each week there are new situations and challenges. We are living in perilous times. What should we do and how should we react as Christians? How have you been reacting to all you’ve been seeing and hearing locally and internationally?  Have you been talking and talking, speaking negative words into the atmosphere and not praying?  It is time to pray.

The Christian life is one of victory, and we know when we read the end of Revelation that we’ve already won. This isn’t the end, but time is winding up. The devil knows that his time is short, and he’s doing all he can to cripple, frustrate and discourage Christians with fear. As a child of God today, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me” (John 14:1). Fear cripples and fear torments. Do not allow yourself to be tormented with the spirit of fear.

Now more than ever God wants us to exercise faith in Him and to experience divine peace. Whether you want to believe it or not, much more is going to happen because these are the last days and we’re living in perilous times. But we have a hope. Our hope is in Christ Jesus. No matter what happens, God is with us. He’s promised never to leave us nor forsake us. It is more important than ever that we know how to listen to the Spirit of the Lord and that we acknowledge God in all our ways.

In these times we cannot afford to do things in our own strength and go our own way. We need God’s divine wisdom, guidance, and protection. Although we need to exercise divine wisdom, we cannot crawl into a hole and hide. We must walk in faith and resist the temptation to fear.

God is still depending on us to do His work and to be obedient to whatever He’s called us to do. The challenge to us as children of God is to live lives that are pleasing to Him, unspotted by the world. The world must see the difference in us. Our lives must demonstrate that the hope we have in Jesus Christ propels us forward. Only then will our witness give sinners a desire to serve Jesus Christ. People are watching to see how we are reacting to all that’s happening. They’re listening to us and what we are saying. They’re listening for words of hope and comfort. Have you been telling others of the hope that’s within you because of Jesus Christ or are you just as fearful as anyone else?  God is depending on us to spread His love and His Word to a hurting world.

God has promised us a peace that passes all understanding, and we must walk daily in that peace. Even in the midst of trouble, when you’re tempted to feel afraid, know that God is a divine protector.  He has promised that His heavenly host will surround us. Do not fear; hope in the Lord.

Beloved, if ever a time we need to pray it is during this month of December, 2010. Paul admonishes us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.” We are in a season of GRACE and God is giving many time and space to repent and get right with Him. The year ahead is one that for those who are not grounded in Christ Jesus, only God … For this reason, we cannot afford to waste a moment in this month. This is preparation time, more so spiritually than ever before. December is the final month of preparation for what lies ahead.

God is a merciful God and He loves and cares for His own. We must pray not only for ourselves, our family, our relatives but also our government, leaders at all level, both in the church and in the world; our co-workers, our territory and yes, also our enemies. The Word exhorts in 1 Timothy 2:1-3 us to pray for all men “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

Husbands pray for your wives and your children and wives pray for your husbands and children. Parents, pray for your children, grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, sisters, brothers and other extended family members. Employers pray for your firm and your employees and employees pray for your employers and place of employment.

We need to pray for our government and the upcoming 2011 elections from now.  This election will be a turning point for us as a people, one way or the other.  We must pray that God’s divine will be done unhindered by the enemy and the works of darkness.

Members pray for your pastors and leaders; and pastors pray for your members.  Church cannot be business as usual in 2011.  Warfare prayer and intercession is the key to confronting and defeating the enemy in 2011. Obedience to God will save many lives from premature spiritual and or physical death.  For many, December is the month of God’s time and space to repent. Now is the time to change your heart and turn to God.

We must pray against war, death and destruction, and strange physical and spiritual fires. We must pray from now against the 2011 hurricane season and pray against earthquakes in the Caribbean region – for in 2011 the Caribbean will experience a shaking.

We encourage you today to pray without ceasing and fast individually and collectively as the Lord leads.

“WE HAVE ALREADY WON” that is very true. What we need to do now is claim this victory through the bodlness of assurance by faith.

Too many of us are simply saying we believe, without assurance in what we believe. That is the reason Satan continues to feed us with lies and deception, the sword that we accept from him, as through our own choice, he uses that sword to destroy our lives.

December is a month which reminds me that Jesus will come again, as He has promised us. The end of the year could mean that Jesus is on His way, to show up bright and early in the New Year. We do not want to end up like the people of the days of Noah, who were “feasting as they got married and gave their children into marriages. Noah went into the ark; but they did not know, until the flood came and took them all away”. Mathew 24: 36-39

Let us make certain that we are prepared for Jesus to take us up in the rapture, at His second coming. Let us make that at the sound of the trumpet, we will be changed from the state of mortality to the state of immortality–the state by which we become like Jesus and to live in Eternity in the presence of Almghty God, who is the Spirit of Holiness, Truth, and Love, in His Person, Jesus Christ.

So true what you said and you struck a chord since my son started the year in 2010 but alas, he did not make it to December, 2010 and he was 21 years and all the other countless persons young and old especially young persons who died this year.

Yes indeed we must pray and fast and allof us should take heed and yes church cannot be business as usual in 2011.

Good words Richardson. Continue the good work of the Lord and alllet us continur to paray for another and our Nations and by extension the world.

Watcher, I am so sorry to read about your son, and O Dear God, he was so young! It is good for you as well, that you are a person in Jesus Christ. I can imagine that it was only His strength of Love that kept you going during those dark hours.

I hope that you have overcome the grief that you suffered, during the time of your son’s death, by now. In fact, I know that you have; for I know the mercy and compassion that comes from God’s Love in Jesus Christ. And you never stopped expressing your faith in God’s Love, as you testify of Him all the time.

Always remember the words of assurance from the apostle Paul at Romans 8. He reminds us that “nothing can separate us from the Love of God that is in Jesus Christ–not even death” Remain in God Almighty, by faith in His Person, Jesus Christ. Let peace and joy continue to be the energy that moves you. For that is your strength, the evidence of your Life of Love, in Spirit and Truth.

I believe that God speaks to us through the Richardsons in all their news articles.

Sometimes their messages are not for everyone, as some of us might have already received that message either by the revelation of God’s Holy Spirit in us, or by reading the Letter of God–His Word of Love in the Holy Bible . But regardless, we all need to take heed, be it a conviction of the Truth we have already received or a new information to us.

The Richardsons prompt us to express our faith in God, to those who frequent this news site, through what we write and post in our comment. Just like you did today.

Not only do we need for them to keep allowing God to work through them, but we too should keep on receiving the Work of God through them. It is good to let others know that we have accepted God. God is also pleased with us, that we express our faith in Him to the public; for in doing so, we testify of Him.
