PHOTO OF THE DAY: ‘Checking out’ the catch

Dominica News Online has contacted the photographer who pointed out the photograph was mistakenly labeled as taken in Fond St. Jean. The picture was actually taken by the photographer while vacationing in Trinidad.

Photographers – novice, amateur or professional – in Dominica are asked to submit photos, photographer credit and caption to [email protected] for consideration for the Photo of the Day feature, daily on dominicanewsonline.com or news.dm.

Submissions can be accompanied by a brief profile and contact information of the photographer. Submissions will be published in the order they were received.

Photos must be taken of Dominicans and things Dominican. Note that submissions advertising any form of business or business activity will not be published.

Dominica News Online also encourages the submission of a variety of photos, ranging from nature shots, people shots, weird shots, interesting human interest shots, and anything ‘newsy’

What is wrong with you? You are another person who is dictating to DNO. You are rather bold. Be satisfied with whatever picture it is. It is a beautiful picture of “A Catch of Fish” which is God’s gift for a meal or meals.
Some people of the world have nothing to eat and nothing nutritious at that. They would love to have some fish.
I would love to have some fresh fish from Dominica or anywhere in the West Indies as T & T. :)
I thought this picture is one of Dominica. Anonymous, upon reading your critic I read further and noticed that it was taken in T & T. So what? It is a lovely picture and I would love some of this fish.
Once when I visited some relatives in T & T one of them bought some shrimps. We cleaned them and cooked them. This was a great delicious meal which the entire family enjoyed. I love shrimps; fish as much.
DNO do not worry about those critics. They need to be told off. They lack appreciation/gratitude. These people feel that the whole world should revolve around them and please them at all times and that it owes them everything, some of them without lifting a finger. Their comments depict just that and who they are. They need to change their general attitude.

This pic is not of any beach in Dominica. Look at the hair of some of the individuals in the pic. They look like some east indian descendants

Fond St. Jean? Are you sure? Where in Fond St. Jean has this nice sandy beach?

    August 23, 2011

Nice community photo. But Fond St. Jean does not have a beach like that. That is not Fond St. Jean.

    • August 23, 2011

I agree with you. There is no such beach in Fond St. Jean. The beach in Fond St. Jean is one with stones not white sand. Further the lenght of the beach is enough to tell you that this is certainly not Fond St. Jean a very small seaside community.
