Sadly, there are many such houses all over D/ca especially in the Kalinago territory.

I remember traveling to Petite Soufriere in the 1960s and what I remember most vividly about the trip was an impassable road and lots of rain.
Thanks Theresa for sharing and the fond memories.

Hi everyone! This pic was taken in the Village of Petite Soufirere. It’s not a regular house. It’s an old school house I attended at young tender age, back in the sixties. Thanks for the beautiful comments. Happy to know that you all are greatly inspired.

Ohhhhhhhhhh! My heart feels warm watching this house and reminiscing on the good old days. Looks like Eadlyn (mother of Timothy, Edith, Buttina etc) right below Mev and them house, close to Paweh house in Elmsall, C/Bruce. The galvanize roof reminds me of the song; douvent jour lait bargai la bon (early morning when the thing is good) especially when a steady rain was pounding and thunder rolling……. :-D

    Assertive, NOT Agressive!

So true! When the sound of the raindrops were unabated on the “galvanize” roofs. Yes nostalgic moments. Love it!

boy and now those with those big mansions acting like they will never die.what the dont realize is that at the end of the road all they will have is just a cossy little box made in the north eastern close to lynhurst, and overlooking the gentlerest

A nice capture. But given the rate of how flora flourishes in Dominica, this house may still be a home. And strikingly ,is the mini botanical garden surrounding it.
