Do we really need to look at pictures of women being treated like cattle in a meat market? For Crying out Loud people – we live in an age where women are allowed to be Lawyers and Doctors. DNO – why don’t you post about events which will create a bigger sense of self awareness and instill pride in young girls; thus encouraging them to aim higher. For example, the percentage of females graduating from UWI this semester. How does a pretty face and perfect body contribute continuously to the GDP of any country – bearing in mind that prostitution is illegal
When are we going to end this charade of prostituting young girls masked under the title of a talent show? What does walking around in a bathing suit have to do with talent?
WARNING: Statistics do show that girls who are involved in or follow such degrading competitions are more prone to teenage pregnancy or find themselves in abusive and unhealthy relationships due to their lack of self esteem.
Why do we find ourselves in the Caribbean embracing such out-dated institutions with such enthusiasm when the rest of the civilized world is trying to bury it due to the stigma it imparts on a modern society…
Kind Regards,
Someone who Cares
