to the person who used to plimay those birds…i think you should be talking about that with regret….birds eats insect too and therefore are carnivores…..so if you are a carnivore eater i would much rather you eat a dog or cat…they are not endangered species…

      November 16, 2011

too many stray dogs and cats so instead of getting all excited about memories of eating those poor birds why don’t you start getting rid of some of these dogs by eating them…..it also be beneficial on you pocket …meat is very expensive

I love this fruit. I will have to go to DA to get some. :) I have not seen this one in the part of the world in which I reside. The fruit is sweet and so the birds cannot resist eating it. The smell of it will lure them to it.

By the time you get to DA you will get the “beck zozio”. Just clean it with a knife and you’re good to go.

      @ new yorker

I reside in Toronto and have not seen it here. I have seen other West Indian fruits and purchased them but not this one. Probably other West Indian stores sell it in another location far from where I reside and where I do not shop. I will keep my eyes open for it.
When I visit N.Y., I will ensure that I am taken to a place where it is sold.

I would pay 5.99 for it if I ever see it. LOL. I find myself paying 79 cents for ONE plantain!
Man, when you have not eaten these fruits in ions, you’d pay any amount of money for it eh.

        November 16, 2011

        @ Malthus

There are times when we see West Indian fruits and vegetables, our mouths water and temptation in purchasing them sets in  so we make the sacrifice, close our eyes so-to-speak and purchase them. They may not be as tasty as those fresh ones in DA. It cannot be helped such is our love for our fruits and vegetables and eagerness to eat them.

      • HRE
        November 16, 2011

OF’ COURSE, YOU WILL NOT PAY 2.99 FOR THAT. YOU ARE A TYPICAL DOMINICAN. YOU WANT EVERYTHING FREE. WHY DON’T YOU PLANT A TREE IN YOUR BACK YARD AND SEE HOW WELL IT WILL DO. DO YOU KNOW HOW FAR THIS FRUIT COME FROM BEFORE IT REACH YOUR STORE? CHEAPSKATE!!
