Photographers – novice, amateur or professional – in Dominica are asked to submit photos, photographer credit and caption to [email protected] for consideration for the Photo of the Day feature, daily on dominicanewsonline.com or news.dm.
Submissions can be accompanied by a brief profile and contact information of the photographer. Submissions will be published in the order they were received.
Photos must be taken of Dominicans and things Dominican. Note that submissions advertising any form of business or business activity will not be published.
Dominica News Online also encourages the submission of a variety of photos, ranging from nature shots, people shots, weird shots, interesting human interest shots, and anything ‘newsy.’
Photographs submitted should be the property of the contributor or where this is not the case, the contributor should obtain the permission of the owner before submitting the photograph.
Looks cute and the parrot looks a-lot better than the one on the chines D/CA flag.

This is a cake to be eaten not go in a museum. Before we post negative comments can we consider the efforts that went into this masterpiece. At least show support not ridicule. The Word tells us love your neighbour as yourself are we showing love here. This is indeed a beautiful creation, the one who made it has talent. Keep up the good work.

It is so sad to see someone being vilified, just for a pic DNO posted.But wait,as if I have never seen so many comments for Photo of the Day before.Let us encourage each other when we try to do something good….The other person who does cakes,may or may not have sent a picture to DNO.It is not a competition to see/know who can or cannot do it better.Just someone who found pleasure in what they did and wanted to share….Grow up people,we can do better than that.

As i commented previously some Dominicans love to praise foreigners and at the same time throw their Dominica people under the bus with criticism. For once give praise, encourage and don’t be too critical. When someone puts time and effort into something, unless u did the same and can show that u did better, shit the hell up and don’t belittle yourself with sarcasm. Well done anonymous, wish i could have a piece.

Very nice but the horizontasl tri-clour band is upside-down. It should be yellow, black & white in that order. Also, the sisserou’s breast should be purple and not red.Finally, the stars should be evenly spaced. We must be careful with depicting our flag and get it absolutely right.

It’s a freaking cake for crying out loud. When you can do better and post your perfect cake depicting the perfect flag then shall you be able to criticize. Some people have no skills, no talent but just sit back and await the moment to lambaste another persons work.

I do applaud Audie’s efforts but as a Dominican I also like to see the flag of my country properly presented. If others think that small-minded and petty they are, of course entitled to their opinion.
As for a correct depiction of our flag, perhaps DNO will do us the favour of re-publishing their photo of 19 Oct., 2011, shown on the occasion of Flag Day.
