I remember when the nuns used to serve us warm milk and very sweet bread after church. I also remember being so curious about communion that I went up and took communion before I was ready to take my first communion. I was so afraid someone would see me and tell my grandaunt!
This is definately a great piece of archectect and construction. I made my First Communion and Confirmation there. This picture brings back a lot of great memories especially the pakes and ackras after Children Mass on Sundays.
Wow, Childhood Memories.
Admin. Can you find out what happened to the Gargoyles that adorned the building? Were they destroyed during Hurricane David? or were remove during the building renovation?
wonderfullll

This surely bring back memories…..church every sunday, scout parade, basketball and the odd church fete with stalls…….
Wonderful memories, to stand on the hill and see the ocean, absolutely beautiful. I remember not wanting to go church every Sunday, today as an adult I am happy my parents cared enough to make me go. Cant’s wait to come back and see it next year reunion.
lovely,simply lovely.
love Roman Catholic buildings. Excellent architectural work. There is no denying that.
this is very pretty.. very nice
Quite scenic, historic and for me nostalgic eh! That’s my childhood and teenage church. Just beautiful.
Nice photo. Just wondering, seeing that this structure is very old are there any plans to strengthen so it can withstand strong tremors. Villcase, and portsmouth structures were lost in a 6 magnitude quake. Would hate to see other such structures go.
Just checking
Admin could you guys find out?
This pic brings back memories of when I was an acolyte..with Gobbles and the rest of the boys..
Aren’t all the Catholic churches around the world historic? I’m just wondering when was the last time a chatholic church was built?
The Vielle Case church which was destroyed in the earthquake some years ago has been rebuilt. Chapels have been built all over the country in the last few years – Cochrane, Canefield, Carib Territory and so on.
The old buildings tell us that the Church has been around for ages. The new ones tell us that the Church will be around long after you and I are gone.
Well, in the US, in the last few years, they could not afford to keep a lot of them. As a matter of fact, they’ve either had to close some parishes and/or sold quite a few of them in order to pay claims for the priests’ sex abuse scandal. So, I guess it just depends on what country you’re in.
