what is the dislike about Dominican people…what makes a pond a pond and what makes it a lake…isn’t it depth and not size as most people think

Good question. I recall my father’s wise words to me when I was a child, “You never stop learning until the day you die.” By this meant educational matters. This has been proven time and time again. It should apply to each and every one of us.
Although a lake could be called a pond, if only it is a small one and man-made, I would not call the Freshwater Lake a pond. It is too large and is not man-made. God has blest Dominica with such Lakes and sceneries. They are to be admired and to thank Him for them.

The Dictionary, the Thesaurus and performing a computer research will give us the answer.

In the Oxford dictionary, the meaning of pond is:

Small body of still water artificially formed by hallowing or embanking; herbs growing in still water; also used for animals to drink from.

In a small Webster dictionary, the meaning is:

A body of water, less than a lake, artificial or natural.
I did a computer research. Pond is: pond, pool, dewpond, fishpond, millpond, a small pond.
This should give you a fair understanding between a lake and a pond and the meaning thereof.
Human beings can also bath in ponds on condition the water is clean and unpolluted.
In this case, the Freshwater Lake should not be classified as a pond for obvious reasons.

What a beautiful sight! In my childhood days as a student, we went on an educational outing to Laudat. A few of us younger ones then, went to see the Freshwater Lake with one of the teachers and the older ones went to the Boeri Lake.
I recall that there was also a Male and Female lake. There is a legend to the latter two including the Freshwater Lake. At that time no one was allowed to swim in the Freshwater Lake. It was a lake which was feared, that if anyone ventured to swim in it they would end up probably in a French island.
The beauty of this Lake is breathtaking. Sweet Dominica with its beauty and sceneries.

      @ forreal

Probably but we have not yet heard of one. I wonder what is underneath the water aside from sand and how deep it is. I would surely like to bath in it but for safety reasons. It is really worth admiring.

Where are you hiding or sleeping?  Are you a Dominican and a true one at heart? Did you not at least go to elementary school where you learned about those Lakes?
You must be joking. I hope you are.
This is natural beauty. It is not man-made but God-made-created.
