Bob Marley was the greatest reggae superstar,
A voice which spoke against injustice, everywhere.
In him there was hope, courage and inspiration;
He was a star who called for black liberation.
The brother was an international Rasta man,
Who made us remember that we are Africans.
He highlighted the struggles of the black man,
And dwells in the hearts of the black population.
His revolutionary spirit is an encouragement,
Yes! A shield and protection to Jah’s children.
His spirit fights together with our army
Until the day when all black people live in unity.
Bob had said that everywhere there would be war
Until oppression and racism were no more;
Until the day that it is known and realised,
That for his skin colour, no man can be brutalized.
He made the world aware of our suffering;
Yes! Music and melody were his offering.
Marley was no ordinary man or singer,
He was a sure challenge to the oppressor.
The whole world was pleased with him,
His death was a shock to some – even a dream.
His name shall be remembered in every generation
Because Bob called for the black man’s redemption.
Marley’s life was a puzzle which shook the world,
His works are worth more than silver and gold.
He brought the world face to face with reality
In an impressive expression of music and melody!

Nice work!
Bob Marley is a legend because he consistently sang/spoke truth to power. A receipe that cannot be defeated, it does not need any propping up, nor boastfulness – it stands by itself, doesn’t need help from anyone.
Hail to you Hailes! I love your poem. Yes, Brother Bob taught us about our identity, liberation from the oppressors and most of all identifying with Africa. We are Africans first and foremost. We are not Europeans,Americans,Hispanics or Indians but we are Africans. He is truly a legend. His body is gone but his spirit is much alive.
Well said man. Rastaman live up!
