POEM: A Mother’s Love

By Philbert George

My child, my child,
Where did we go wrong?
Never wanted you to be a vagabond

My child, my child,
I’ve tried to read your mind
Did you have to end up in a life of crime?

Many days have I wondered
Why you- my baby, my child
And countless nights have I pondered
Will I ever see you again alive?

But cry will my heart cry no more
For in his hands
I deliver you for sure

Lord, I pray you’ll teach this child
Make Him turn around and realize…

For no longer can my burdened heart
Yearn for a better tomorrow
When all my todays
Are but memories of pain and sorrow

I love you my child with all my heart

Will love you my child
Till death do me part

Touching poem…this is becoming an everyday reality for so many mothers. Prayer is the only way a mother can this heavy burden. Let’s pray for our nation. Keep on sharing your wisdom Mr. George.
